    You certainly are.

Do you not agree that top-tier open wheel racing in the US is a mere vestige of its former self?

I tried to watch. Too many caution laps.

Yes..... I do agree. Having watched the CART/IndyCar series since the mid '80s, it is DEFINITELY not what it once was.

To think that at one point, open-wheel racing in North America was more popular than NASCAR is BEYOND frustrating.

I will support the series until its demise.....or resurgence. Hopefully, the likes of Barichello and Newgarten, along with the newly-designed TURBOCHARGED DW12 will enfuse some well-needed positive publicity.

Hopefully, others will want to see the series survive....

There is no 'series' left to support. Tony George single-handedly killed top-tier open wheel racing in this country in the late 90's. That was when the demise of the series was.

And yes, it sucks. I liked it soooo much better when up-and-coming drivers wanted to go CART racing because they felt it was the best there was. Names like Mears, Sullivan, Unser, Amdretti, Penske, Foyt, etc. were widely known. Now, I doubt 1 in 10 people you ask could name 3 Indy Car drivers. But that's also when NASCAR used to be about racing, rather than the mega-marketing machine they have been for the last 10+ years.
