Nice buildup. You getting an LSD?

Dont post too much on here... but i thought i would share what I'm doing to my car in case others wanted to do the same.
What was on the car:
- APR Stage 3
- BSH motor/tranny mount
- BSH VTA catch can
- EJ valve cover
- Neuspeed TB pipe
- C2 dsg software
Added:
- IE rods
- JE pistons 9.5:1 CR
- ARP head studs
- calico coated rod bearings
- Mishimoto radiator
- HTA upgraded compressor wheel (should flow 51lbs/min)
- Eurodyne Maestro 7
PICS:
OLD WHEEL
NEW WHEEL
Car is now at my local vw shop (Dubsquared) getting dyno tuned with Eurodyne's software.
We ran into a few problems when doing the tune though...Had to get a 3 bar "map" sensor, new o2 sensor, n75. Might have to adjust the wastegate or get 1 with a higher psi.
my goal is at least 400whp.
Hopefully it will be done this week![]()

Nice buildup. You getting an LSD?
Unitronic>Revo and hauling ass! K04 w/ RS4 injectors, Forge WINtake, Eurojet intercooler, ECS lightweight pulley, APR TBE, APR hpfp, BSH TB pipe, Forge DV, Neuspeed K04 discharge pipe, ECS dogbone mount, BFI stage 2 engine & tranny mount, 42 DD Ultimate catch can, HPFP Upgrade 145 BAR FRV, Snow Performance Stage 2 water/meth kit, Level 10 valve body rebuild
#3
you most certainly should be able to get 400.... id think more along the lines of 450+.
dont be suprised if you have to upgrade your intank pump.
#4
#5
that pump will fuel cut under a 1/4th of a tank, btw. Works until then though, lol

Not going to lie, really sick build man. 1 question though...not sure of your financial situation but did you ever think about going with the newer gtx turbos either 28 or 30 series? Just wondering since your going Eurodyne and all.

#11
very nice! consider me a fan! post back with what you're able to get out of it
Oh and the last pic of your car makes me think about painting my lowers![]()
Engineers do it better.
#12
^^^^
You should! You can't even tell that they use to be textured. The body shop painted the front lip, sides, and my votex rear for $500![]()

Update:
Boost won't go past 22psi so I just ordered a boost controller.
@22psi it dynoed 350whp.
Any idea how much boost I might be able to run on my setup once I add my EBC?

Well there is a cap of the MAP sensor at 1.55 bar, but i can't be sure that also effects how much the car can boost.
I'm guessing you can't ask the ECU to boost more than it can "see" but i never heard this actually
prevents you boosting above that....
Still, there is also a limit to what the turbo can do.I think the compressor might be able to boost up to
30 PSI but i don't know if the extra boost is actually "good" boost or the turbo is running out
of efficiency....
From my experience with the turbo, 26 psi is a good pressure to run to allows you to run some
timing too.But please report back and let us know how you did.

Will do
Yeah I know the stock map has a cap so I'm running a 3 bar map.
#18
I don't get it then...
If you have removed the map sensor map then what is preventing you from boosting more ??
That cap would be the reason the ECU cannot see more boost and thus cannot adjust the N75
but if you rescale the map then you shouldn't be having these issues....
#19
need the 3 bar from a tdi (i believe) to get the wider resolution. Funny thing is, the output is limited to 256 bit, so even though the computer can see the wider range and calculate correct load, you do not see the numbers past 22 or 24 psi in the output
#20
Don't really know such specifics of the ECU but on this side of the pond i can tell you
there are S3s and Cupras that have that MAP sensor (it is the same as the tdi) and
the ECU reads up to 2.5 bar.
So i don't really know this limitation you are talking about, cause that would mean
their ECU has different specs which i don't believe it does.
But as i said haven't bothered doing the "conversion" cause there is any software out there
to support it, so the boost controller is the only way i guess (at least until someone tries the
other route..)
#21
there are a lot of benefits to using an EBC. Personally I'd ditch the n75... then you wont have issues with the ecu removing boost, change the way the turbo spools, in car adjustment, exc.
OP: if you are tuning mafless, get the 3 bar.
#22
#23
as long as it works, thats great. I thought yuo were having issues with the ecu removing boost up top though?
#24
Yes but it doesn't do it all the time and i'm guessing it has to do with the fine tuning
as i'm on stock CR and can't really adjust timing or fuel accurately to compensate.
I've seen TB closing up top but can't really pin point what it is the ECU sees
and is causing this. But as i said it doesn't do it all the time.I've isolated all the
common culprits like rear pump and such, and rest of the variables seem normal
but remember i'm "abusing" a generic software that can only be partially
adjusted....
Best thing would be custom software of course but i'm curious to see how far this goes.
Have to finalize the tweaking and then dyno...

Hmmmm that might be a thought, but since this sw is used by all boost controlled
Revo cars with stage4 (plus ? LOL) i'm sure Revo had that covered.
Besides, it doesn't happen all the time.I'm guessing when the car gets hot...
I'm also running full advance so that have a part in it...
We'll see....

Car feels solid
just waiting for the EBC now
oh and I'm running mafless
