Thread: United Motorsport: MORE DSG WORK !

  1. 03-25-2012 11:18 PM #1
Ladies and Gents, We are holding 570 ftlbs to the wheels through the DSG now. ZERO slipping.

    General Car Specs:
    Precision 6265 on an Mk5 R32.
    Built motor: Rods and pistons.
This is a customer car. United Motorsport did not build this car.
    Peak boost was 27psi.
The current car setup has wastegate signal coming directly off of the compressor houisng.
The chart shows the pressure loss across the piping/intercooler as flow increases with revs.
This will be changed to the proper location.
FULL STOCK OEM DSG hardware. (no aftermarket clutch packs)

    Other notes:
Data was collected on a Dynpack, 2wd. setup. Haldex unplugged.
A few small clean-up items will be sorted this week.
This was a quick test to measure the actual torque we're holding on the road.
    We can hold MORE.

Come see this car at Wookies In the Woods.
I think we'll have a few of these proper big power DSG cars on-hand.

Big to Jeff Clark. This is his car.

Awesome. Can't wait to see how much you can get once you get clutch packs on there

We have no intention of replacing the clutches with aftermarket parts.
(I am still unsure why folks believe OEM needs to be changed out)

So far in testing, none has shown to be any better than OEM. (customer tested, not UM)
The trick here is to avoid slipping.
    No slip = no abuse.

We started work on a 2nd car today: 650hp 540ftlbs to the wheels. (look round for Zevion's Stage Plaid)

That will be amazing Jeff if you can keep stock packs.
Hopefully your work will be migrating through to the UK into the UM shop there..???
