someone has to answer my tie rod question. I cannot seem to find any specific 'trw' tie rod for the g60...I've read that the ZF tie rods will thread into the TRW rack but will leave a slight gap(some have used a M13 washer to fill this gap?). I really don't know what to do with these damn tie rods right now-

did you get to keep the MFA function of the cluster?

you're vr6 and the OP (and I) are coming from G60 cars where the MFA is built into the engine harness (oil. ambient temp, and i believe VSS)

MFA is MFA, Dosnt matter if its a VR or a G60, the function is in the Cluster.

So yes, i ran a few NEW wires through the harness to maintain the MFA.

    wheel bearings x2
HD poly control arm kit x2
    tie rods (full assembly) x2
    rod boot covers x2
    sachs pp
    sachs disk
    ecs 14lb steel flywheel

got some inspiration today and began removal of my g60

    then I found this

I'm assuming this can be welded, but since it is aluminum...will it be as strong as it was before?

should I start looking for a new bell housing or tranny? I really hate to junk this one as it only has about 22K on it since the it was rebuilt

I had mine welded and it has been holding up for the last 6 years.

Just make sure when you get it welded to have it bolted to the front engine mount bracket.

Yes, 058/09A blocks still have the same mounting holes as previous generations. I believe this is due to parts of the world still using the oe rear early mount in an NA 20v 1.8 Skoda IIRC

can anyone help me figure out what these two ??'s are...

the first ??' is actually a 5-pin connector and goes to this-

and goes to this pump deal behind the power steering rack-

    what is this?

second one near the starter connector and a/t connector there is a 6-pin rectangle connector; colors are-
    slot 1: no pin
    slot 2: red/yellow
    slot 3: black/green
    slot 4: violet/black
    slot 5: white/black
    slot 6: brown
    slot 7: yellow/blue
    slot 8: no pin

    do werk and brake ****

    Corrado is now de-g60'ed

on the unfortunate end- I accidentally tried to take my p/s line off with the lock nut and this happen

not sure how I am going to fix this

and I THINK I might of accidentally broke my speedo cable, can anyone tell? I took this one off by the top too

    F%&#!!

last but not least, I noticed my flanges kinda moved in and out a tad- is this normal? or is something worn?

    that is it for today

edit: also, I was told the car had the ABS deleted, which I could find no connectors for- but it still has ABS hubs. I forgot to order hubs, so I will be doing this in the next week- my question is: do I still need ABS hubs or can I order non-ABS hubs and they'll fit no problem? I was told the axles may be different?

Not much of an update- sold my g60 engine/charger/ecu for a decent chunk of change- need more funds.

did get around to inspecting a few things and cleaning. found my front motor mount bracket is F'ed so I have to source another. Should be installing clutch and tranny and slapping it in by the end of the week depening what day I get my core support, sub frame, control arms, cross member/rad support to the powder coater...but by the end of this coming weekend she should be in

^^ Weld another layer of sheet steel on the bottom. That should cure the crack/spit problem there (has on mine).

Common problem on g-60s ave it rewelded and reinforced. I used one from a b4 2.0l Passat with no problems but have been told that the angle is wrong.

The mount has already been reinforced and cracked again. Just going to source a new one. The angle is also different from the 9A Passat, but should still work.

as for now...I have found a new mount. Considering having one machined.

wondering how the diagnostics port, CEL light and DBW wiring went. I am assuming I can chop off my DBW connector and wiring and solder wire to that and feed the other end into the blue plug for DBW?

edit: have removed plugs F, G1 and G2...still working on S. I noticed from that harness there is a single brown wire with a white stripe that connects into a male/female connector brown wire with white stripe that runs to another plug. What is this(assuming it's a ground for something) Then there was a single blue wire with white stripe with a connector end but I don't think it was plugged into anything...I couldn't see another single wire connector it plugged into...what is this blue/white one? and a single solid yellow with a black connector end that was tucked in there...what is this too?

That will show you what you need to know, And you've Slid the locking section at the back of the fuse panel releasing the locks on the pressure clips, right?

Also, yes, i just snipped and soldered the wires together for the DBW, and wired the CEL wire to the K line that was already in the car.

    No, I never slid a locking deal...hopefully I didn't brake anything.

and I believe I have K-line as my car is a 90 g60 which came with no MIL/CEL light.

found the locking clip- holy cow do they come out easy... only one I can't get out now to remove the harness is the 5 or 6 wires that run to the #90 relay at the top of the fuse box, how do I remove these?

Mine didnt have a CEL, i installed one... But you have the K-line access in front of the shifter to flash for codes. ( Or use vag-com with the new ECU )
