My $300 coupe

I got my coupe a month ago. not running. When I eventually got it running it had a real bad knock. So I decided to get another motor and rebuild. this will be my first mk2, first 8v and first rebuild by myself.

I got down the street and the trailer tire blew out


spent about 2 hours wire wheeling it to get it this clean




think i may have had some coolant in my oil

the head on my rebuild motor was too warped to resurface so i ended up having to resurface the original one and using that

Got it all honed put the crank in got the rings and rod bolts on and found out that the rod bearings GAP sent me dont have the oil hole..

I used to hear this too. I wasn't lucky enough to find a 300 dollar car tho and then school got in the way (no garage or at home)

yeah im in the same boat. Im in school have no place to work on it so i work on it on the weekends at my grandparents house.
