my first build thread ever.. i have built a few vdubs before but never really posted anything about them so here it is...i started out with a vr6 swapped cabrio nothing special but it was a start...after the summer i ended up blowing the transmission and started finding anouther passat so i can rebuild it all..

Last day before the turbo build..

The last pic a week before the transmission went..

The sad part is i wasnt even driving it like a d!ck and this is what happend lol..

    I i then ran into a 96 passat that i used for a daily total cost $600..

Not long after i ended up blowing the motor.

I had the bright idea to keep it an automatic so after i pulled the motor and put my vrt into the passat attached with an automatic transmission i took it for a ride an i liked the wway everything was so i set my day away and waited for night time to go for a little cruise.. 6 hours later... yes i blew the transmissiion and the motor lmao.

so now im here back to square one with a newly built motor thanks to a fellow passat world forum user..sorry not good with names hes the one that told me to post a build thread..

    blown motor getting pulled..

arp head studs ultimo coils bbm fuel rail new oil cooler southbend stage 3 daily clutch

new motor and everything coming together..

puttin it back in were it belongs..

    rainy day..

coils in..i think im a lil to low lol

Shermianator sounds like you know what you are doing when it comes to engine swaps. I am on the same track you are and currently in the process of rebuilding my engine. What was done internally to the VR6 before you boosted it? Anything you would recommend?

all factory internals...i dont plan on pushing to much out of it right now but the factory block is good to hold up to about 500hp with factory internals...head spacer is really all u really need

    Only two criticisms from me:
    1. too low
    2. too many stickers

Other than that, I like it. Good to see another VR6T around here. I'm hoping to add the intercooler to mine next winter while the wagon is parked.

I have my fears, but they do not have me.

nope all stock..believe it or not a vr is an easy way to make some power..so u dont need to do much unless u plan on building a a 9 sec car...

x9t swapping a vr is prolly the easiest thing i know how to do now that i have done it so many times..im always up for a vr swap into just about anything..
