Thread: HPA 02M Transmission Short Throw Shifter for Golf R

  1. 03-27-2012 01:53 PM #1

The HPA Short Throw Shifter is manufactured from an all new dedicated casting which is CNC machined to precise tolerances.

For the Golf R platform, these versatile pieces of hardware can be set up on one of two different positions to suit your preference: a sporty 20% reduction in throw or a more aggressive 35%/40%.

The perfectly balanced shifter counter weight gives each shift a precise and positive engagement and greatly improves the feeling over the sloppy stock shifter.

The bright zinc plated finish ensures that the stock appearance of your engine compartment is maintained while protecting the casting from corrosion.

Includes threaded pin / ball connection for connecting the shifter linkage. Easy to follow installation instructions are available upon request.

Orders can be placed by PayPal through our website, or by calling HPA directly at 604.598.8520.

On a local install, we found a variance with the Golf R that needed to be addressed in the machining process of the shifters. Once this is completed, they will be shipped. Shouldn't be long now...

The shifter in my R feels just like the short shifter I had in my GTI which was an S3 short shifter. Did the R get a better shifter or am I just imagining things?

How much shorter is this compared to the stock R shifter and will it be more notchy?

    Thanks.

It is the same 02M transmission that has appeared in previous models...

Still have these in inventory ready to ship? I'm thinking of picking this up as well as ordering my transverse mounted intercooler this weekend.
APR Stage II+, APR HPFP, APR FMIC, 42DD Catless DP, BFI Catch can, Carbonio intake, Forge BPV, BSH Mounts, ECS Tuning aesthetic pieces, Hill assist terminated, Soundaktor be gone.

Any reviews on this short shifter yet? How does it compare to the competitors? And what's the price for one right now?

Finally had time to install mine today, it's been sitting in the garage for a few days. Great product, shifts feel amazing, and install was nice and easy!
    Thanks HPA!

Is there an adjustment I should be paying attention to that I may have overlooked? I originally installed with the 20% reduction and was diggin' it and wanted to switch to 40% but when I did, I was getting contact between the counterweight and the linkage, shifting into 2nd (esp) and 6th.

    Am I missing something?
