ok so its been a while. last 1.8t i had drove up to S.F. for a friends funeral. on the way back the ball bearings went out, turbo cracked and some other things can really remember..so i let the car go as i bought it from some hole in the wall dealer. bought a bike after and have been riding.. want another mk4 and found one only had 2 owners has 200k on the engine though, so my question is should I buy it with have the intention of driving it for another 4-5 months before wanting to either replace the engine and trans or rebuild..and if so and anyone lives in SoCal or Seattle what shops do you guys go to?

Really depends on the condition of the car, the price you could get it for, and your intensions. If it's a really good deal get it and just do a swap the sec the motor craps out.
