Just curious what (if anything) I can do to make these go lower? I've searched but cannot seem to find a thread about modifying coils specifically & what is/is not safe to do.

My ksport kontrol pro's are the most current versions (not sure if v2, v3, etc.)

    All hardware still in.

    any help is appreciated

Exact situation. Im in for a good answer as well. I was searching this all day today and ended up just spinning the fronts all the way down and decided to deal with the loose spring, and then took the rear collar out

    Bump for local too!

You can cut the springs and/or cut and thread the piston...but that doesn't make sense.

If it sounds like sarcasm, it probably is.

Hit a stop on the fronts with my Cross comps too.

Granted, i assuming that's the point as they are track coils... but i want moar low too lol.

I'll just have to put the 19's back on to fill in the little remaining gap.

That's my problem now, I'm on 19's so my wheel gap is gone but I'm still sitting too high I'm looking into trading my 19's for 18's also cause that ****'s gotta go lol.

I thought you could remove one of the orange rings (if not both) and spin it down to the black locking ring to shave 0.25"-0.5" off. Am I mistaken?

Pull the black collar and the small orange one. Take the little metal washers out too. That'll get you in the mid 22's as far as ftg. You can just take out the black collar and the rings (I was at 22.7 on my rabbit like that). More low would be had by taking two collars out.

    It just get V1's

Yup this is what I do. Also spin the shock all the way down into the sleeve then turn collars down until they hit the sleeve.

Make sure you adjust the rears correctly to, I blew a rear shock either form lack of proper adjustment or high milage not sure what since the other on seems to be fine.

Truth. I now have bilstien sports in the rear because of this. Tbh, the rear shocks on ksports are kinda meh anyways.

It's not the front shock that needs to be threaded, it's the body they screw into. Problem is after the V1's, the 2/3's have to be milled out on the inside of the body, it's a smaller diameter on the inside near the bottom and acts like a stop. I'd you dremel/mill the inside a bit, you could spin them past the bottom of the body like V1's.

The V1's had just a small tab.

See... I've had a set of V2's and my current V1's. The V2's weren't Bad at all, just took a lot of tweaking of the dampening when the ride height was achieved. Only thing not custom about my V1's are the front shocks and rear perches... I have linear springs with custom rates F&R, and bilstiens. I will say the custom setup destroys the ride comfort/stiffness of the V2's...

But then again I knew what I wanted (after being on 8 different suspension setups in the last 4 years...).

Im pretty low and I love my Ksports! They ride like my old Eibach springs. I have the dampening in the middle all the way around though. Couldn't be happier with them!

should be similar. the bottom piece can machined wider so you can spin it so the whole strut gets shorter. besides getting lower it will give the shock more travel. better ride

with mine, it stops " threading"at the red line. i had a machine shop make the section all the way to the bottom wider so it can go in further and thus making the shock shorter

charlie hays did it first and this is the outcome, not on air:

spin the bottom piece completely out and see what you have to work with.

the older one had a smaller bottom piece because the sway link wasn't incorporated into it, it was separate

    Here is what i did

Took out the bottom orange locking collar, and those two sets of metal rings on the top and bottom of the strut. Sitting a few mm under 23ftg front on a 215/40 on an 8.5

With all that meat been taking out, does this part will still be strong. Because after some measurment, i'm not sure if 1mm and a hafl will be strong enought

I wonder if the strut on V1 had a smaller diameter giving the part milled out just enough meat???
