Playing bass at a live gig next week for the first time in almost 20 years. The house has a PA and board, but no monitors. My current amp is a 200W solid state 1x15 GK combo with an XLR out. Can I get away with plugging the amp into the house PA and relying on the amp and PA to hear myself? Probably a dumb question, but like I said it's been 20 years. TIA

200w should cut it if the venue isn't huge, and your band as a whole can keep on-stage volumes reasonable.

worst case - if the place has chairs w/o arms, put your amp on one so the speaker is higher up.

If your worried about hearing yourself, go rent a monitor for 15-20 bucks for one night and rock it out. Ive been playing in bands for about 10 years now...theres NOTHING worse than not being able to hear yourself.
