Thread: Gigabyte HD6870 OC Flash or OC?

  1. 03-29-2012 06:07 PM #1
Hey guys, so some of you guys may remember I was asking about ram for a new build I was doing. Ended up building the system with a 1060t, asrock extreme 4, patriot g2 ram, and a gigabyte hd6870 oc. I think the total build came out to be just shy of 600.

Now I'm wondering if anyone had any information with regards to what I could do with the card with respect to overclocking more and/or reflashing the bios to that of the Super Overclocked version. I've tried googling but information seems pretty scarce for this one card.

    Thanks in advance!

    Reflashing is pretty easy.
    Google for:
    Radeon Bios Editor
    and ATIWinFlash

Go to: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/ for bioses to download.

Use RadeonBiosEditor to edit the bios, if you wish (I usually make the fan slope a bit more agressive, at least) but you can change voltages, clockspeeds, etc as well. Be careful though, you can turn your card into a paperweight too.

Use ATIWinFlash to save the BIOS from your card (MAKE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP OF THE STOCK BIOS!) and also to flash a new bios file to the card.
