well i have a 2004.5 GLI and one of my headlights seemed to be noticeably dimmer than the other so i went ahead and ordered new bulbs thinking it was going out. i then install the new headlights and the driver's side headlight is noticeably dimmer just like before. it could be in my head but it seems as if the rear running light is also dimmer on the same side. does anyone know what could be causing this ?

i have already checked fuses and i've already pulled my battery and checked the grounds underneath.

      TIA/P4C

What kind of bulbs are you using? Cheap/overwattage bulbs are known to fry the connectors on Jettas.

i had sylvanias in there when it happened, seems like it's just the headlight btw

fogs and tail lights are the same, so it has to be in the headlight somewhere.

Sylvania bulbs should be fine - but I'd still check the bulb connector. It could be damage from a bulb that the previous owner used.

Are both the high and low beams dim?
