No, having kids is tough (probably, I mean that's why I don't have any) and this makes things a tiny bit easier for them. This can also help in promoting a family friendly image.
I mean, kids in the car "I'll go to ___ as they have the parents with kids parking" so not bad for advertising.

Also, I can see this thread turning into a brutal debate.

It least it tells you what spots not to park next to. Kids are the worst for throwing doors open into your car, and I doubt many parents would even care if they saw it happen.

That said, that is going a bit too far. Expectant mothers is one thing, but I fail to see why having kids should get you better parking. I'd park there just out of spite. Flame on.

I think this is a blessing. Average American mom is tired as hell and doesn't want to walk from the back end of the lot up to the front. Keep this there for em keeps the kids away from my car parked in the back.

Makes me dislike the world even more... I laugh because there is only 1-2 spots usually... And there are about 30 families in the average grocery store. How many handicapped do you see in the store? Ohhhh maybe 1-2; generally elderly and needing a walker, not truly handicapped (in a wheelchair, or severely movement challenged)... how many handicapped spaces? Usually about 3-4+. What's the point when 29 families could have used the space? Not really helping anyone out.

They should make wider spaces for awesome/new (new-looking) cars... that would be useful. Make the wider spaces in the back of the lot, where we'd park anyway... but make the spots a good foot or two wider.

Better then Hybrid parking (with no charge outlet, what's the freakin' point - it's just a car at that point)... I'd give special parking to V8 SUVs, why waste fuel looking for a spot... way more enviro friendly - a hybrid would be in electric mode.

I prefer to carry him in the parking lot. sometimes one or both fall asleep in the store/car. With a 35lb kid in one arm and groceries in the other, you appreciate these spots

For a new single mother these spots are life savers. When I take my son out by myself I never use these spotts. When Im with my wife,she never uses these spots. When shes buy her self at the grocery store these spot are a life saver. A Mothers work is never done, I work 40+ hours a week so my wife can stay at home and watch our one year old son. I wouldnt trade jobs with her for anything. They deserve these spot as far as im concerned.

Having reserved spots for parents with kids next to the cart return is a great idea IMO!
It is a better idea than having electric vehicle charging spots clogging up the front row parking spots IMO!

Once you get to your vehicle and unload the groceries and kids into the vehicle that close cart return comes in handy!

Having worked in a grocery store for many years in the past i'd say that of your daily customers that a good 2/3 of them are parents with children. You have to cater to your main customers!

I tend to read signs in the most literal fashion possible.

When I see "PARENTS WITH CHILDREN" I have to ask myself, if you don't have children aren't you by default not a parent?

Also when I see "SLOW CHILDREN" my mind immediately goes to short buses.

I hate signs and their terrible grammar. We wonder why our poor are uneducated, they learn English from all the signs that can't complete a sentence.
