1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks.
The rest are caused by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
These threads always bring out the self righteous. Claims are made that pregnant/old/hybrids/fat etc shouldn't get these spots as they don't deserve them, yet the only reason they're complaining is that THEY want to park there themselves. Soooooo now who is being selfish?
so it goes... ಠ_ಠ
I am not stopping to help the next kid that runs in front of my cart. I am tired of needing to stop and pick your child off the ground so others can get through.
Maybe they should just ban children from stores.
I tend to read signs in the most literal fashion possible.
When I see "PARENTS WITH CHILDREN" I have to ask myself, if you don't have children aren't you by default not a parent?
Also when I see "SLOW CHILDREN" my mind immediately goes to short buses.
I hate signs and their terrible grammar. We wonder why our poor are uneducated, they learn English from all the signs that can't complete a sentence.

I love all the trash talk by 19 year old's in here. Come back in 15 years when you have 2 or 3 kids & see how you think.
I used to be like you. Seeing kids having a fit, or running off, & thinking " Jeez lady, control your damn kids!" Now I have a three year old that I could threaten with death if she doesn't listen to me, & she'll still laugh in my face & run. Kids are kids, & most parents do their best. Doesn't mean the little pricks will listen 100% of the time.
That being said, I don't use those spots for two reasons.
1) Avoid door dings.
2) To make the spot available to someone who may need it more than I do.

Is it bad everytime I see one of those "Baby on Board" window decals, I tend to drive MORE like an ******* on the off chance, they'll over-react and end up crashing their own car themselves? Seriously, those decals are like a wounded gazelle on the Serengeti ...
These spots make sense if they're wider than normal spots.
Loading a kid into a car with the door only open a quarter of the way is not easy... If these spots allow you to open the door completely without blasting the neighboring car it's a win for everyone.
It's amazing just how many people get bent out of shape when discussing these things. How are your ulcers doing?
First thing I noticed was the tape on the mirror. Also, the only sign I really pay attention to are the ones with towing warnings and handicap spots. Everything else is fair game.
Of course I don't worry about that because I park WAY in the back away from people and next to nice cars or a island to at least protect some of my car.
I think its a nice gesture. When my wife goes to the store with the kids, it can be exhausting, and the simple act of a grocery store knowing its patrons goes a long way. I'm assuming you shop at places that are handicap friendly, right?
Honestly, I'm excited a lot of you with the "indiscriminate breeders" mentality won't be procreating. There will be no one to take care of you and you'll either die off sooner or kill yourselves.

As a parent, I can appreciate those spots, but I still think they are kind of dumb and pandering. Would never use them.
