I was scanning through my Performance VW archive and a photo of a Silver Mk1 Volkswagen Polo possibly a '79 driving along the highway next to two huge rigs. The caption on the photo says it's Yarrow Thorne's polo on the Dagball rally to H20I in 2005. But After some digging around I found that he apparently bought the car in 2006 making that information false. Does anyone have that photo or any more information on the car. It seems an absolute mystery. Thanks for reading (If you did)

    Yarrow here,
That picture was of my polo which was on mini light wheels, with a graff hood and roof I bought the car a few months before the Dagball and drove it down to H2OI and back with massive exhaust leak. I bought the car along with a RHD scirocco, I ended up selling both cars. I do miss the polo, and wish I had kept the car. If you have any questions please just ask me, I will do my best to respond.
    cheers,
    Yarrow

DUDE! perfect. Uh, it's probably a stupid question for you but have you got the photo of the Mk1 polo when it was on the freeway during Dagball? Hopefully you know the photo I mean. Good to finally talk man.

Oh plus. I have a Mk5 Polo that I want to import to the East coast. It seems like a complete minefield though with all the DOT tests and changes that need doing to the car. As you probably know the 6N2 was never sold in the states which is one of the main reasons I want it over there. I've read that I'd have to get a number of cars identical to my personal Vw so that they can do the tests on those like the crash tests. Any ideas on how I can get the car in without too much hassle. I know nothing worth doing is easy but the last thing I want is to pay so much to get the car there only for the DOT have it impounded or destroyed. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
