    1st Gear to Neutral RPM's stay HIGH

    So I have noticed if i gun it hard in 1st gear, then go to neutral, the rpm's will stay high and slowly come down instead of just going straight to idle.... normal or not?

    Its normal, our cars has a dual mass flywheel. Its ment to have a smooth shift without a quick drop in rpms

    What's the year make and model? 5speed 6speed. Does it still do it when its raining? Was it under exceleration or deceleration? Are you the owner of the car.

    well according to the info on vortex, i have an 06 gti. 6 speed. dont gun the accelerator in the rain. and as i stated a quick acceleration in first straight to netural the rpms can take 5+ seconds to come down. do i own the car.... what kinda question is that?
