Im looking to buy a real euro trunk lid. Im located in central pa and willing to travel a reasonable distance for one. Color obviously doesn't matter but am only interested if its complete and dent free. (scratches are no big deal)
FYI I am not interested in a '96 NA trunk as it is NOT "euro" its just has a euro plate tub. Pictures posted to clarify what I am looking for
Worldwide '95-'96, NA '96 - notice the recess around the button and molding bulges out
This was available in america and NOT what I am looking for!!!
Euro Pre-facelift - hard to see but no recess around button and molding is more flush
Euro facelift - complete flush and believe the handle release is under the lip like newer models

Often times it is easier to source someone in Europe to ship it over rather than finding one in the states.. Try contacting someone through http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/ ??

Bump for Jamie @ Orchid, I think he only brought back one facelift lid on this last container, and I swooped it. Keep on him though, it took me months for him to finally snatch one up.
here's a photo before i resprayed it.

isn't the difference in the euro and 96 Us models just the trim around the trunk release?
Hard to believe Audi stamped a different trunk for an uncertain US market in 96
#25
yes/No there are 3 different euro trunks, '95-'96 european is the same as '96 in the US. hence that is not what I want, most people sell the '96 american trunk as "Euro" which is nothing special as there are easily a half dozen in the classifieds at anytime.
I want one of the other 2 euro only trunks as pictured above

So you want one like the dark blue one in the second picture? Or you want one like the one in the last picture (silver)?
The only difference that I can see between the white one first picture) and the blue one (second picture ) is just the trim around the release button which is removable and interchangeable.
The third picture it is obviously different than the first two and I think this is the one you want

Bump for you man. I'll give ya some advice though. The latest B5 Euro lids have the electronic touch pads to release the lock just like the B6/B7 lids. They are pretty intense to get wired since you're tapping into the security system, so I didn't bother wiring them. I ended up pulling the lock barrel out and moving pins around to key it to my car. That was the only way to open it once installed. None of the mechanical parts from our lids are interchangeable with that one. The mid-generation ones I can't speak for though. Here's a photo of my S4 before I sold all the parts.
Good luck man, it's a badass part.
