First thing to check would be the brake pedal switch, had mine crap out in my Golf and had no brake lights, luckily a friend was tailing me and noticed, but it might have been days before he even saw it.
I can see it shorting out and doing the opposite.
Are they cheap ebay HIDs or OEM bi-xenons, and did you do any Vag-com recoding?

need help with my brake lights...

hey guys, just wondering why each time I wake up, my break lights are always on...WITH THE CAR TURNED OFF. It happens only at that time. Would it have something to do with the HIDS? Before I had them installed, I had no problem. I installed the lights and couple weeks later the break lights turn on. I don't know whats the problem. Someone help plz.......
