VOID Warantee?

Has anyone heard of Audi now pro-actively scanning cars when they come in for service to determin if they are chipped - then VOIDING the powertrain warranty if they are? A friend of mine said he read an article that they are starting to do this... SUPPOSEDLY Stasis tuned vehicles would not be subject to having their waranty voided....?

On another note - I also heard REVO has bought Stasis... anyone with info on that?

So far Audi is only using information collected from ECU to collect information. At least in the A4 community, they are not voiding warranties based solely on modification. Could easily change though.

I don't understand how Stasis operates, so I don't understand why they would be bought out by the competition. APR makes the ECU tunes for them. Taking over all the warranties people assumed to have with the product is risky.

Wow - looks like this is something very real that people are already being affected by... wow. glad I'm waiting on getting my ECU tune to see how this pans out. I'm assuming dealerships will allow the Stasis ECU upgrade since the dealerships are facilitating this.

So it's official, Stasis and REVO are merging. It will be interesting to see how the TD1 plays out and if Revo customers will get the Stasis warranty - then if Stasis customers will get a new reflash with REVO's 93 tune?

Audi doesn't warranty after amrket parts, never has and probably never will. When you buy Stasis through the dealer, the warranty is through Stasis. So if you Supercharge your R8 and blow the motor, Audi would tell you to pund sand and Stasis would (hopefully) be buying you a new motor.

Of course there have always been contributing factors to all of this, ie, the dealership, your relationship with said dealership, the mods done to your car, the condition of your car and last but not least, your attitude. In other words, if you are a good customer of your dealership, put quality mods on your car, take good care of your car and don't start blaming the dealership for the problems your having with your modded car, you have a much better shot at being taken care of by the dealership.

Yeah agreed. Well the fact that Stasis has a warranty is pretty nice. It would be nice if other tuners offered a warranty on their ECU tunes.

We've done quite a few Stasis cars and have never had an issue, definitely something to be said for that.

Audi is able to see APR, not sure about the others but if your car has software and it is detected, your car is now tagged in the system with having pirated software. Pretty crazy.

Yup. Stasis cars are automatically flagged also. Only difference is that Stasis has a warranty and picks up where Audi does not cover...

It seems Audi has taken this whole warranty thing to a new level. Audi dealers are no longer allowed to factory certify any pre-owned Audi that has had ANY type of modification, even if it has been returned to stock. Pretty crazy.

Makes me want to go with stasis even more. As long as their tune produces the same results as the REVO tunes

Yeah but they offer a warranty to cover what Audi does not. It's better than nothing.

Yes, they do but what about in the instance when it has nothing to do with the Stasis mod and Audi says who cares, the car is modded. Shaping up for a he said/she said IMO.

Depends on the dealer or tech really. If you have an open campaign or update on your car they will plug it in, if your service doesn't require it, they most likely won't. It's not the techs looking for this stuff, Audi made it so once they plug the car in, it automatically detects a modified ECU and tags it in the system.

Went with STaSIS last week. It's virtually identical to the REVO 91 tune and it has a warranty to boot. The car has completely been transformed - just super responsive now and pulls like crazy... smooth as stock as well... very very impressed!
