I don't know jack about this really. I'm contemplating 19's on my CC sport. However where I live, it's like driving in Iraq. So I don't want my car too low. I don't want the ride to suffer either. I'm sure it might a little bit, but I don't want to lose my kidneys over bumps. I'm 41 and have enough pain in my life from downhill mountain bike racing, ATV's, etc....

So what do you suggest for springs? I'd like to drop it a tad and have a decent ride still.

    Thanks.

search for snobrdrdan he has eibach springs, and has had many other suspensions it seems from his posts, only good things to say, without going to low and keeping close to stock ride comfort.

IIRC, Sno is currently very high on the Pro Kit's from Eibach. His thread has a plethora of information and for someone who isn't super serious about suspensions, it's an excellent start.

Yeah...the Pro-Kits are definitely the way to go and I say that because of their linear design, the mild drop, & the quality of the ride (still being good)

And I think it's what most of these guys want, that just want to lower their car a little. It keeps it looking classy still

I still haven't gotten around to putting my Koni coilovers on, but for a daily driver the Eibachs are the better spring versus the H&R's

And FWIW, I've gone to the dealer many times and they haven't said a word

I noticed the Eibach pro kit is just springs. Is there another company that sells the spring and shock absorber as one unit? I recall seeing such a thing. I'd rather have something that just bolts in.

I guess I'll need a spring compressor if I go that route ha?

That's the easy part. You just rent that from AutoZone or an auto parts store

You'll also need a M14 triple square bit, a strut spreader tool, and maybe a M6 triple square bit too (for swaybar endlinks)

    The rears are uber easy.
The fronts are easy with the right tools & if you've done struts before.

If you don't feel too good about it....have a shop do it.
Or you might wanna see if you can find a local VW enthusiast to help you (it's the same as the MK5 or MK6 or B6 Passat suspension, etc.)

H&R makes a cup kit for the mk6 jetta you could use, but it's 600-700 bucks. Not worth it IMO. For the money, you can't go wrong with Eibachs. You can always upgrade your struts later on down the road.

i managed to do my mkv jetta without removing axle. just have to do 2 sides at the same time. it's more running around but saves some work on axle removal.

Eibach says their springs are progressive, but that is a generic description. Is is possible that the specific springs for the CC are linear? Either way, I'm sold on the Eibachs.

I've never removed the axles in the 30+ installs I've done

And I've done one side at a time too

The Eibach Pro-Kit springs for the CC are 100% guaranteed linear....part number: 85105.140

These are my ACTUAL pics below, & you can even call Eibach to confirm that they are linear if you still don't wanna believe me

I believe you. That's why I said the "progresive" description was probably a generic term used to describe many, but not all of their springs. I'm certainly going with Eibach over HR. I gather the OEM shocks/struts work well with the Eibachs from what you've already said.

    Best setup, IMO

And the difference between the drops is so minimal (.25" in the front)....but the difference in ride: Eibach wins hands down

I have one more question. The OEM 19" Sagittas I ordered from the dealer when I purchased the car last week arrived yesterday. They'll be installed Wednesday. I asked what tire they were going to furnish and they told me Goodyear. There wasn't any more info. I think Toma has Goodyear on his and was just wondering which ones he has and if anyone has any experience with them.

I have a question here, What if I decide to just drop the rear end only? Would it matter in means of driving or otherwise? I am asking coz to me the front end seems to be ok but rear springs need to be dropped.
I have Lux plus 18' stock wheel ...
    Appreciate feedback...

Ok, thanks. I paid for the wheel/tire combo though. Our cars should be just about twins.

It would definitely not ride properly with stock springs up front and aftermarket in the back. The only decent way to have slightly different ride heights in front and rear would be with a coilover setup. I think your complaint though is probably the exact opposite of the vast majority here.

Thanks a lot! That helps i think that 1inch drop is perfect to reduce that huge wheel gap. Is aligment necessary after spring installation?

yes you need to do an alignment about a week after install, springs should settle by then

Like InvertedB said....our cars sit higher in the front than the back from the factory (it visually appears that way anyways)....so why would you want to lower the rear even more?

    It'd look even more goofier

From the ground to the edge of the fender ("FTG")....it's a hair under 26" in the front and 25.5" in the back with the Eibachs

So measure your car (should be around 27" or more).....and you'll see how much they'll lower your car

The Sagittas are on. They look great. Now for springs and spacers. I'll put some pictures up before and after springs/spacers.
