From the looks of it you weren't hit straight on. The passenger side doesn't look that bad. What does the other side look like? Will the other persons insurance cover the repairs? If the damage is merely cosmetic (broken headlights, scufffed up bumper) you can save some $$ by repairing/replacing some stuff yourself. However, you WILL need to repaint the bumper which a body shop will have to do if you want it done right.

Based upon the picture Oddjob is likely right but we can not see under the hood. Is the core support bent? (the part the radiator and headlights mount to)?

If not, you may be able to do it yourself. If your car was a beater I'd tell you to get a hammer and just go at it. Yours appears to be a nice car. You'll want to do it right. If you were lucky enough to find one wrecked in the rear you would be even further ahead especially one the same color.

Post better more in depth pics to get better answers.

First thing first, get a new driver side headlight so your headlights are in proper working order. Not sure where you live but most states thats a traffic citation waiting to happen. Other than that, if your budget is low, hammer to the hood so it can shut and just get a shop to repair everything properly as you can afford it. Get that hood to shut if you plan on driving it so it doesnt fly up into your windshield and cause another accident.
    "Its just a VW....." ...........no

looks like u need 2 head lights more then likely your core support is broken since there made out of fiberglass. the grill tabs are more then likely broken as well. the bumper doesn't look that bad u might be able to buff most of that off, and I'm assuming that your hood latch is bent and thats why your hood is not closed. the best way to go is through insurance. that way all the new parts will match and everything will be back in working order.
