I am selling my '98 royal green 1.8t 5 speed with 159k miles. I have owned it for 7 years and it is time to move on. It is due for a new timing belt. Cosmetically the only thing wrong is the paint/clear coat peeling in certain spots. Car has clean title. Will not part out any parts, please don't ask. Car needs to be towed, the belt has not snapped yet but has the potential even if the car is idling. Could be used as a part-out car as it is in great condition. The car really looks good and is a ton of fun to drive.

    FINAL OFFER -- $1,300

Here is some recent work I have done to it:
Brand new Duralast Gold battery - purchased 3/25
Complete control arm/tie rod replacement - June 2011
    New drivers side/passenger axles - June 2011
New Spark Plugs - September 2011
    HUCO ICM - September 2011
Coolant Temp Sensor - September 2011

I have done all regular maintenance myself:
Synthetic oil changes (Auto-Rx multiple times)
    Air filters
    Brake pads/rotors
    Fuel Pump, etc..

    Upgrades include:
16" 2001 Audi A6 2.7t wheels - have some imperfections, but in great shape and look great on car
Kumho Ecsta SPT 205/55ZR16 91W High Performance Summer tires - 1 season left of tread. Spare steely included
    Black FK Angel Eye headlights
    Smoked sidemarkers
    Monster Mats
    Forge 007 diverter valve
    W8 belly pan
    Silicone vacuum hoses
    Peripheral Electronics/Pac-Audio iPod Integration

Clutch in great shape, AC works great, non-smoker, 6 disc CD changer in trunk but is disabled for the iPod connection. The iPod interface sits behind the stereo and the wire is concealed down through the gearbox and comes up through the hand brake compartment (see pic). It looks like it is part of the car and sounds awesome. I am the 2nd owner, I have one key, drivers side door lock needs replacing and the airbag and windshield washer lights are on.

I am also on passatworld as kjc230 and this is posted there as well, please feel free to look through my posts and please message me with any questions. You can also email me at kylejcesare@gmail.com or call me at 570.510.7336.

When was the timing belt last done? Anything to keep me from driving it home to Annapolis?

i hit a puddle back when I didn't have a belly pan on and the sensor got wet i believe, never replaced it.

the windshield light i'm not too sure about, i checked the fuse and it looked okay but never actually put a new one in, so it could just be that.

Just a thought, put it back in, you loose a gauge but car looks a ton better. I'm contemplating it but money is tight. Anyone know if you can pull a fuse or relay to make the airbag light go out?

Just a thought, take it somewhere and get the airbag light looked at. At least then you can tell prospective buyers what the problem is (and maybe approximate cost to fix). An airbag light on will keep it from passing MOST state inspections and may be driving away people who are afraid of what it MIGHT be. I know that's my case.

I never took it anywhere to get looked at b/c it always passed PA inspection, which surprised me the first I took it in and it passed. And now I don't want to drive the car b/c I fear the TB will snap. So the airbag light will have to stay on for now.

The price is great and everything wrong is written above, it's not like i'm hiding it.

    Appreciate your opinion tho, thanks.

Another price drop, my final offer is $1,300 before the car gets donated.

This is a complete steal at this price.
