Auxillary Battery under seat. Solar panel ?

I have a 93 euro weekender do you know if the auxillary battery under the seat works the interior lights without having to do anything?

There is a orange toggle switch on the outside of the drivers seat, but not sure what it is for.

Has anyone used a solar panel you set on your dash and plug into your ciggerette light to trickle charge your battery when you are parked for several days camping? the one's on amazon are cheap,but not sure if they actually work....

Can someone please give me the measurements of the battery compartment under the drivers seat.

I am getting a '93 EV Weekender Westy delivered soon. It is in the final stages of being resurrected from a junk yard.

Trying to plan ahead on replacing the aux-battery. I've read threads on using optima batteries laying on their sides in an EV, along with many on the samba that have combined several 20 ah universal batteries upright in one box.
