RaceLine Performance and Motorsport Catalog Now Exclusively Available through APR’s Global Dealer Network

Volkswagen Racing UK (VWR), home to the APR Volkswagen Racing Cup, has over a decade of motorsport experience with Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda platform vehicles in some of the most demanding motorsport environments. Through years of research and development, VWR was able to develop a product range applicable for both street and track use with a heavy focus on application and scenario specific products.

APR spent a considerable amount of time testing the VWR catalog across Europe, the UK and North America to ensure the product line meets APR’s strict engineering requirements. The VWR product line operated beautifully and APR is able to declare they are perfect compliment to high quality and performance proven APR product line.

The VWR catalog currently primarily focuses on VAG A5 (MK5/6 Golf, A3, TT, Scirocco, Leon, etc) and VAG A05 (A1, Polo, Fabia, etc) platform vehicles, however VWR is in the final stages of testing several performance parts for the larger Audi A, S and RS Line of vehicles such as the A4/A5, S4/S5 and TT RS. Suspension, Braking and Intake Systems will be the first products added to the catalog.

For a listing of currently available VWR performance parts, please visit the pages below. For more information about Volkswagen Racing UK, please visit volkswagenracing.co.uk

are the intake prices what they will normally cost, or are they discounted due to the APR sale?

We don't have sales pricing for the VWR product line. These are the normal prices.

In the write up on the APR page it states "VWR does not recommend sport springs on 4-Motion vehicles such as the Golf R and R32 as lowering the ride height from the factory does not offer a significant improvement and can even harm the ride and handling balance of these vehicles. For these vehicles the VWR Streetsport and Streetsport+ Coilover Systems are highly recommended."

thanks. my subconscious must have glazed right over that paragraph.

no offense to APR, but this statement is VERY contradictory to every other vendor out there.

I also find it a rather brash upsell to say lowering the car is bad but then offer up their fully height adjustable coil-over setup for 5Xs the money.

is apr saying that anything lower than stock will hurt performance and handling?

Yes, because the springs were not designed for the OEM shocks on the 4 motion vehicles. Springs and Coilovers are two completely different products, so it's not an up sell any more than me telling you flat out "On a GTI MK6 I recommend the coilovers over the springs if you want to greatly improve handeling." But if you don't believe me you can pick a set you think's correct and run them. I'm just here to tell you the results are not favorable.

Just keep in mind that not mentioning the issue may be other companies' brash way of selling a product (the springs by themselves) as well. I don't know which is true...just throwin it out there.

Good lookin products, Arin. Some serious coinage though. Maybe some coilovers in my future. Can't decide is I should do suspension or chip first.

I've yet to see an aftermarket spring released specifically for the R. They all seem to be existing products that fit the stock housing and are labeled as working with the R because of it. Drop? Not known exactly. Spring rate? Not known at all most the time. You should be mad about that rahter than a company telling you they don't recommend their product because it will most likely hurt performance rather than help.

It appears the stock damper doesn't have enough travel in it to support a drop. Can't say I'm surprised.

After this car I graduated as a Computer Engineer and have had a 2005 Lambo Gallardo, 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera S, 2009 Lotus Exige S and Wife Mazda CX-9 and daughter 17, a 2008 GTI with APR stage 1. (She loves it)

After driving those cars, my heart and soul goes back to the fun I had with the 1995 GTI VR6. Hence the buy of the new Golf R.

EIP went bankrupt and other companies have not had the great success they’ve had in the past. (Neuspeed, Autotech Tuning, RPI Equipped….Etc.) They are still around but not with the full force they had before.

For me the new power source in the US is APR. The fact that they are trying to bring in parts that they do not produce and out of country its hard to manage in a large scale, because you really rely on the production. I know they already placed the largest order to VWR and I imagine VWR is exhausted trying to produce the products to the same standard rather than cut corners to make it available.

Personally I do not buy a part at a time since I hate spending a little for a little gain.
I wait and research multiple companies and then go all out. Thinking going with APR, HPA, KW, VWR and maybe Eurospec with a 2.2 liter turbo FSI custom made……just brain storming here)

If you really want an intake comparable to the VWR, go with a wintake or twintake from Forge. But do not bash a company that is a distributor for just posting that they have the product online and ran out. First rule of a distributor is to not buy 100’s of equipment parts until you do a market research and see how the few that you ordered sell.
I think the problem is not APR but VWR. If I were VWR and I am entering a completely different and new market and have an exclusivity to distribute my products through APR, then I would make sure that most of my stock from one of my warehouses in the UK will be shipped to APR for distribution in the new market.

You all waited months for your Golf R and some are making senseless comment after comment for just a part?……lol…….That tells me that if you install the part you will whine also because it does not have the advertised HP when you dyno it.
Please educate yourself since there are a lot of factors involved for a distributor to make a specific part even worst to make a complete collection available from overseas.

I am ok with 1 or even 2 negative comments but what in the world do you want Arin to do after his explanations…..give you the part for free?

STOP….STOP you made me write this after reading these posts for several years and never posting anything…..
    :slow clap: Bravo!

Thanks guys for canceling your orders... That means I'll get mine faster.

I ordered pretty early on, I'm hoping I'm near the top of the list and I can get my intake from the the batch that may show up next week.

I have an appointment to get HPFP and Stage One+ reflash on the 20th and I would love to have the intake thrown on at the same time.

And yes, those brakes look great. Probably just invest in those when my stockers wear out.

What color options will be available for the VWR calipers? The red is gorgeous but will probably clash with RB. I think yellow might look good...

having a black car.. I actually like the red. Black and blue would also look good on a black or blue car.

I don't know what to think about yellow... I'd have to see it.
