You know how it is once you get into it, these things follow you home.
This followed me home a couple weeks ago.

An unmolested 74 Autostick, I know hold back your jealousy at this highly desireable car.

Plans are heater channels to make the body "safe" fix the pan to make it "safe", slam the snot out of it and drive it as a "patina" car. Oh yea, ditch the autostick.

Updates will be s l o w as I mostly plan to fiddle with it over the winter.

After checking out the car a little more, the pan and tunnel is toast.
The whole lower pan head is totally gone, the lower half of the beam mounting stuff is full of holes and shot.
Luckily I was able to pick up a repair panel.

Also grabbed a set of heater channels.

I like how you even put a fence around it to keep the thieves away.

The fence isnt to keep the tweekers out, it's to stop the rust from blowing too far away.

Is that a guard-reindeer in the background?

Got the junker off the trailer, freed up the one stuck brake and it rolled right off.

The new pan is sleeping soundly in the garage, the new heater channels are bolted in place.

Fenders are off the orange crap, and not one of the fender bolts broke!

Tommorw is e-town and parts shopping for some small bits

E-town was a bust for me, didnt find anything.

Aircooled cars had a decent attendence. Watercooled car owners drove like complete friggin A-holes on the way out..

I did come hope to a great set of pop out windows for the project. The old man found em at the everything swap in Stafford springs.

    Thank god for air tools.

I dont think this car has ever been apart, at all.
The rear suspension is almost all off. The IRS arms came right off, The shock bolts look like they have never been off the car.
Hopefully I can get the spring plates off next and trim them up.

Next is paint everything and get onto the new chassis.

All rear suspension parts have been wire brushed and painted black.
Spring plates have been notched, rear bump stops have been removed from the suspension arms.

    Backing plates have been painted.

    Soon Reassembly!

    Some updates,
All suspension bits have been cleaned repainted and slightly modded.

Removed rear bump stops off the trailing arms, notched the spring plates.

Planning on lowering one inner notch and adding adjusters to the beam and maybe spindles too.

I welded a brace in the pass side door to get ready for body removal and heater channel replacement

The paint kinda looks hammertone, but it is just the pitting on everything

The pass door is actually fine. It poped right out. There is just a slight sheetmetal depression that was there previously, and a slightly larger scratch than was already in the exact same spot in the door.
This aint no split or oval, it's a 74 autostick, and I was home alone at the time
