Thanks a lot guys. The lip will be painted black once it's painted for good.

I'll try to get some measurements of the faceplate on Tuesday or Saturday when I get to the car and post them up. Also in the future if there is enough interest I can have my buddy make a couple out of fiberglass. Also we are going to make a 3 gauge pod for the center vent so I'll talk to him about this as well.

If hell put together some fiberglass pieces, count me in, that looks so clean and fresh.

It will take a while though as we have a lot of work on my car still but once that is done I will get him to really think about this

Keep in mind though that a lot of work has to be made to the inside part of the dash as well. You have to cut and plastic weld some stuff in there too so you can fit the double din and we still have to figure out a way to attach the actual head unit.

I will however post the measurements as soon as I get to the car.

Thank you. I kind of new that the new RS4 would have the same arches since they started doing that in the previous RS6 and all other RS after that . The color is only temporary. It will be repainted in a whole different color ones I finish the interior and a **** load of paper work for the color change :bang head:. Albanian laws suck!

The passat belonged to my buddy Manny that I lost touch once I left the US back in '07. He took great care of the car and after I left I think he repainted it and put on a new front bumper with a big grill. If you could find me a link to see whatever happen to the car I'd appreciate it. I'm curious on how it looks now

Sorry it's neither of them. The car was repainted in a different color after I left. Something like gunmetal so definitely none of them.

I wanted to get measurements and more pics of the faceplate today but didn't get the time because I had to test fit this before the welder does the final weldings and adjustments. All of this was done during launch break from work so when I got back I was all black and dusty

    Is that a harness bar?
Throw an Audi engineer down a hole with a ladder and he will fashion a shovel from it and tunnel his way out

Yep . I didn't want to go for a full roll cage because nobody around here can make it so a harness bar is perfect for me right now.

Seats are in. We took apart the old seats and used the stock sliders and welded some plates to them. We lost the height adjustment and they only go backward and forward. Crazy day from 9 am to 10 pm.

Very nice The bar seems a little high though?

I like the hoop to hold the harnesses in place I was wondering about something like that for the lower belts on my racecar, so will be appropriating that idea this afternoon

It is a little bit higher than what I wanted but that was the only way to install it in the stock seatbelt locations at their lowest point. I didn't want to drill through the pillars because I didn't want to weaken them. Do you think it's a problem being a little higher?

Its probably just ok according to MSA specs:

I've used the rear strut brace for mine.

That's a relief man. Thank you.

Car is off to the upholster. Hopefully in the next few days I'll have some more updates.

After a good night of sleep I've decided that I don't want it to be just ok. I want it in the preferred range so I'm going to pick up the bar one of these days and modify the brackets to lower the bar and also cut and re weld the supporting rods. Thanks for pointing it out

Not quite as naked as mine

Seriously tho (and not jacking your thread), if you're stripping the interior to some extent then why not use a rear strut brace for the harnesses? You can just see mine between the two rear shock towers behind all the other tubes.

Its interesting to note the difference between American and European cage designs in that respect actually. American designs always seem to have a dedicated (and curved) harness bar right behind the seats just like yours, whereas Euro ones tend towards the design I have used, making use of the rear brace. My cage design is from the '90s A4 touring cars btw.

Curious to see what you're doing with the interior tbh

Wow man that is an amazing cage. Love the work that your doing.

Unfortunately at the shop my car is sitting for the upholstery there is no access to tools to do that kind of work so I'm stuck with the harness bar that I made. However for me that's ok because my car will not be a designated race car. I'm leaning more towards a fun all around car that I can enjoy on weekends and even long trips so if I have passengers in the rear seats I can always fully remove the harness bar so they can be comfortable on long trips.

The car is getting black leather and black suede with red stitchings on certain parts. Hopefully this weekend I can show some pics of the progress.

Thanks. I'm using the TIP steering wheel because that was the only 3 spoke steering wheel when I bought it 6 or 7 years ago. But I've always wanted to hook up the tip steering wheel buttons to something. Maybe in the future I can hook them up to a water/meth system.

When you ship your car to Albania so I have access to it

Honestly I've lost track of what I've invested so far and I don't even what to think about because all of my paychecks go there lol.
