Just got a Gli looking to put in a boost gauge, would like some recommendations as to what works best. Was looking at the p3 boost gauge, i understand it just plugs into the obd port on the car instead of how other boost gauges are connected. what would be best?

The p3 looks awesome, streaming data from the obd port should be quick enough for an accurate reading, hey it's quick enough for the ECM to use it, should be quick enough for you to see it, if I purchased it I might want the additional analog sensor signal for accuracy, it's definitely more of a multi purpose item as you can also read intake, coolant, exhaust temps, and more on a single display , definitely looks cleaner than a multi pod setup,
The only down side I see is that looking at their website I'm not sure if one is available for the GLI, I emailed them about it and am waiting for a response to confirm this

I'd guess the one for the mk6 gti would be the same for the mk6 Gli but if you get a reply let me know. Rather get the p3 just to keep the interior looking oem

You would think so, but the ac vents are clearly different so not so sure it's the same thing

Just talked to Tim at P3 cars and it is indeed different, they are working on a GLI version but it is not due to release until mid summer. They are currently developing 3 new vehicle platforms including new BMW F30, Volkswagen Scirocco, and lastly the GLI , the GLI is last on the list unless we get enough people interested in which they will bump up the release date by moving it to the front of the line at the R&D department,
Here is what the GTI version looks like...

This is much more than a boost gauge as it can display egt, coolant temp, intake temp, battery voltage, and much more, it can even clear service engine soon lights,
What I'd like you guys to do is shoot an email to tim@p3cars.com and let hi
Know that you're interested in having them move it up on the list for us gli guys
Post a reply o this thread when you've sent the email so we can keep track of whose interested

Emailed!! Good find man I hope this gets out and I will buy it right away if it is on point. Kinda sucks that the cool stuff is mainly pointed at the gti but we will let them know were here too.

It's not that they're neglecting us GLIs or even TDI jettas, it's just that the mkvi gti has been out longer and they've actually had some time to engineer the product, like I said they've already have it in the drawing books , but unfortunately it's not they're top priority, I know beating the new BMW 3 series to the shelves is gonna be tough, but I'm confident that there's enough of us out there to push this through

Just confirmed with Tim - they are looking at a launch date or mid-May.
p3cars will do a group buy if anyone is interested and take 1% off the $389.00 retail price per person up to 23 % off. (Not sure what up to means)
Don’t flame me – just passing along the information to the people who are interested.
I am planning on ordering one with or without the discount.
#16
I just going to post the same thing.
Basically that means we can get a group buy discount up to 23% if we get 23 people to order, but no higher even if there are more then 23 orders.
So if we got 23 or more people to order you can save $89 off the retail price.
I'd like to get in on it if we can organize a group buy.
#17
Can somebody start a tentative group buy thread? I'm in the same boat and am gonna buy one either way, let's focus on contacting them to push the release date, but a group but sounds sweet
#18
I emailed them about how to get a group buy started, so we will see what happens.
#19
im down for the group buy and will look back at this thread on how to get on the list.
#20
Tim at P3 got back to me and it's officially been pushed ahead to release mid May, he will get back to me on how he wants to handle group buy payment and shipping, now all we need is an official group buy list so they can work out the details, if a mod or somebody can take over this thread and attach a group buy list at the top or something like that would be appreciated to keep tally on who wants in
#22
I might be interested. I placed an order for the AWE gauge in December and with no release date in sight, I might cancel it and pick up this one instead.

have a feeling there is going to be a thread on the 0 to 60 timer who has best times![]()

Can we get a mod to turn this into a group buy thread please
#27
you might be asking prematurely...
i e-mailed him too, and unless he's courting multiple guys, i told him i'd gladly handle the group buy for them. i am awaiting more details from him...
i dunno if they advertise on here or not, vortex may want them to, if they dont, before they allow a groupbuy and/or pinning the topic up top.
making a tenative list may be a good start regardless.

I'll check back for the group buy if we start it now by may we may have possibly 20 people to cover 20%
#32
We can not do a group buy thread unless they are a sponsored vendor.
