Wait, you honestly haven't heard that batteries can be (and ARE) recycled?

Study after study have been posted here showing that EVs do less harm over their lifetime than internal combustion cars. This idea that batteries are some kind of environmental disaster is a canard.

Next you're going to start talking about Sudbury Ontario...

It is the same. Since you think otherwise, perhaps you could explain the difference?

Pointing out an apparent hypocrisy is not "putting you in a box." If you want to post nonsense hypocritical ideas without having to discuss them, start a blog. This is a discussion forum, so it makes no sense to get all huffy and act like you're being victimized when people respond to you.

These are the comments that JP is trying to get you to back up. You keep running away with the "put me in the box" BS to avoid the argument. Yes, we know you don't want a hybrid. Neither do I. Defend your comments or admit they were BS.

These non-patriotic so called "conservatives" can go to hell. This is arguably the best car on the road and a harbinger to a bright automotive future for the USA. I'll just leave this here:

You who put your politics before your country have no right to call yourselves Americans.

Even though you have a TDI, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're capable of reasonable critical thought and are just posting that in mockery of all the people who actually post that as a serious criticism of hybrids.

I posted that picture as a mockery against that stupid argument that people present against hybrid debates.

I'll go on to say that when I reach 300,000-500,000 miles on this motor. I will give you my overall maintenance/fuel record when I reach that point, and would like to do a comparison with a comparable hybrid owner to see which is more economically sound over time. That is what I will make a debate/criticism about in time.

It will take some time i'm running about 35,000 miles per year, and with only 70k on the odometer right now after the last two years.

Good to hear. Definitely looking forward to the 2nd gen of that car so I'm really hoping the sales will justify one.

Semi-related ; I prefer paying a part of someone's EV than having to pay for the brodozers of everyone with a bs commercial license up here.

So he wouldn't have to answer the question. Again.
I love cars, but the problem is they are like schroedinger's hobby. They're always in a quantum superstate of being both awesome and a huge waste of time and money... until observation momentarily forces them into one state or another.
