i installed a vf vortech v9 kit stage 2 now i can not get my car to scan. it keeps saying "no link"

i checked ecu for any bent pins.
    installed the stock chip
    changed ecu's
checked fuse 21 pretty sure thats the one for the diagnostics
im going in circles trying to get this figured out

does anyone have any ideas on what to check??

    the car is a 1998 gti vr6

Check the diagnostic line too the Ecu plug. Chips in the wrong way wont communicate but I havent seen what can happen to the board itself. Possibly try another board.

    Another thing.

When it hit around 6k the motor stops accelerating and seems like its misfiring. I also have a jumpy idle. When I start the car it idles ok when I come to a stop at a light it starts jumping but if I give the car a little gas it will then level it's self out and idle fine.
I still cant get a reading from the ecu so if I could scan it things would be a lot easier.

I'm doing a smoke test today to see where my vacuum leak is .

What is the correct vacuum reading ?

I'm getting very frustrated with this damn kit.

jumpy idle when coming to a stop usually is a uncalibrated TB, key up for 30 seconds then off, try it a couple of times, if nothing, your gonna need to solve the connection issue to the ecu.

I dont think the kits to blame.

If you install a stock computer with original eprom will it connect to that? if it wont connect to any computer I'd assume you may have a pinched wire somewhere. Possibly at the ecu connector where they make a sharp bend into the loom.

Make sure the computer is mounted properly as well.

I don't think the kit is to blame I just letting people know what was Recently done to car .
I calibrated the throttle body . I'm going to go back to the 3 bar fpr Bc when I put that one in it seems to idle better but the 3 bar was is bad shape so I put the 4 bar back in just waiting to get the new 3 bar. Does anybody have any input on what my problem could be with the diagnostics? Why I can't get a reading? Im
Going to check what u suggested about a pinched line. The ecu is mounted good

Fix the ECU issue first, that will make solving other problems easier.

So are you able to communicate with the other ECU? At least one person asked but you didn't answer. Does the check-engine light come on when you key the ignition (with either ECU)?

Power and ground and the data link plug?

Unplug the ECU, and check continuity from the data link plug to the ECU plug. I would tell you which pins, but I let a local borrow my Mk3 Bentley, maybe somebody else can jump in with that info.
