I have a Mk5 Jetta and was washing the car Monday, when I got around to the driver side I realized the Drivers side window was open about an inch or two and there was some water along the power window controls. Not alot of water but a few drops on the console and some drops on the seat bolster. For the rest of the day Monday and half of Tuesday I had no control to both front windows using the button console on the door. The rear window buttons work fine and I can roll the windows up/down using my key fob. As of yesterday late afternoon the window controls were back to working but hesitating to go back up on both sides. As of today I can roll my drivers door window down but no back up and no power to the passenger window. The lights on the console light up and everything else on the door works fine.

Do I have a water short or is there a gremlin living in my door..?

Remove your door switch and inspect it... probably a little corrosion which causes a bad contact.
