Carbonio intake. Wanted to keep my engine cover and not change the cabin sound too much. Very happy with the stage 1 and intake.

Well had time to take it out tonight. The difference between stock and stage one is considerable. Way more pull now. Quite lively. I really could picture with any more upgrade to the powertrain really needing suspension/ handling mods to keep it all reigned in.

No. just a little throatier. Sounds good. 1st through 4th it's definitely louder, but not even close to obnoxious. 5th and 6th the car is quiet.

Did you get the stage 1 and then add the intake? I (possibly imagining things) feel like i sense a few flat spots in the performance under less then heavy acceleration and the push now borders a bit on peaky. I am not really complaining..its kinda a hoot. Did you have similar experiences? And if you added the intake after the ECU mod how did it have any positive or negative effect post ECU mod? Hopefully that makes sense...kinda. apprceciate any feedback.

Subscribed. I did stage 1 last Saturday and have been eyeing the carbonio intake being very reasonably priced and able to keep stock engine cover. Stage 1 is considerably better than stock. Love it. I've noticed the car feels like it sputters slightly when it's cold but perhaps the car is still adjusting to the change.

exactly...i could swear I heard more turbo "whoosh" directly after flash, and then spend quite a while trying to identify what i thought might be sputters...I think after some more driving this weekend I will have a better clue to what's real and what's my imagination. I was 4 seasons 1st Golf R upgrade so I guess i feel slightly special.

The ECU adapts over time. At first the car was like a rocket and very twitchy. Now it's as though this is how the car should have come from Germany. Not twitchy and very well mannered, until I hit 3200. Then it just takes off. I never drove the car after the flash without the intake, so I can't tell you what the difference is. I'm happy with this setup and it sounds the way I like. I'm afraid if I continue with the engine mods I'll detract from the tolerable decibels. I don't want to have a car that sounds like an unresonated ricer. So now I'll be focusing on some subtle cosmetic changes like hardwiring my radar detector, painted sidemarkers and LED tails.

Where did you order the intake? I plan on flashing to stage 1 this weekend and from what I am reading it is best to do the intake at the same time. One thing that I want is to keep the cabin as close to stock as possible. I don't want any crazy droning or loud engine noises. How does this intake compare with stock? If you could post a link to it as well that would help. Thanks

Bought it and had it installed at 4 season in orange.

One warning ...this intake WILL share more sounds with you then the stock one. A lot more. Its not to loud under standard driving conditions but give it some pedal and different story. Apr carbonio may be quieter ...but I've never heard it in person.
