I honestly have no idea why I have all 3. The PS3 sees next to no use and I haven't used the Wii in quite some time. My wife uses the Wii to play Mario or Ea fitness stuff.
I guess I bought them before I had a kid and knew what free time was.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii.............why do you have all 3???
I have all 3 because I like options, and some games as we all know are exclusive to some consoles while not to others. But to be honest, I regret buying the Wii. I guess I got caught up in the moment when it first came out. It was a major fail for me to have bought it.
So why do you have all 3 consoles, and do you regret buying any of them or all of them???
Discuss!

I have owned all three at one time.
ps3 - Only use for blue ray/ NETFLIX/HULU and maybe a few min of GT5.
360 - used almost everyday! Forza4 all day son.
wii- sold it. Not a Wii fan. Too much work. Graphics suck. IMO

I have all 3 cuz I'm a gamer with additional disposable income, not a fanboy. I understand some people can't afford all 3, or even both HD consoles but on all platforms there are always great games. I mostly play on x360 and PS3 though. I will be honest... My Wii, I have not personally played it in over a year. The lady has though
And I'm 33 now and my free time is mostly cuz I'm an insomniac to some degree with a lady that works some late hours 1/2 the week. It's my form of entertainment. I do watch some TV but that's usually a few TV shows at random, or the occasional movie or 2. Even when the lady is home watching TV in the main room, I go to the office/bedroom systems or play a game on PSP, DS or my droid lol
If I had a kid, things would probably be a lot different

I'm a gamer. Having all 3 consoles, you get to play any of the games that come out if you choose to.
Gears of War, Halo, Forza etc... on the 360...
Uncharted, God of War, Little Big Planet, etc... on the PS3
Mario Bros, Metroid, Zelda etc... on the Wii.
I can't say that I regret buying any of them. the 360 gets the most game time, followed by the PS3 (which is my Bluray player) and then the Wii.
The Wii hasn't see much play time of late, but I have had some played great games on it...I guess it would be the easiest to trade in/ let go...

PS3 for most games
Xbox is step sons, he's a huge fanboy. I play a bit of Forza, but there aren't any xbox exclusives i have cared about.
Wii i got for mario games. Still love them.

I regret having an Xbox 360 and paying for 3 extra controllers.. I'm the only one in the house that likes to play video games.I loved the Wii though.. hated the controller. Monster Hunter 3 was played for hours on end. Regret selling it too.. Still play Ps3 often, no gripes with it either.

I have the xbox because, well, if you only had to have one
I have the PS3 solely to play the exclusives, killzone, resistance, god of war, etc, but I also didn't have a bluray so that made the purchase reasonable.
I have the wii because my kid won it selling cookie doughBut she is such a zelda fan that she probably would have eventually bought it for the new one. That would have been her money
So, in short, I play games on the xbox, I use the ps3 for entertainment (bluray, netflix), and the wii to catch the dust.

I have all three because:
I started with a 360. I picked up a Craigslist special PS3 for the Blue Ray player and some of its games. I got the Wii for the kids who, of course, don't even touch the damned thing. I regret wasting my money on the Wii for two reasons - 1) I think it's a crap system anyway and 2) if I had known the kids were going to play it for about an hour before realizing how useless it was, I wouldn't have bothered. They still use my Xbox (when it's working), PS3, and computer.

I had all three, after 2 years of not using the Wii i sold it.
I have a PS3 launch console (got it first week) and i maybe use it twice a year to watch blu-rays.
my xbox 360 gets used daily.
i get caught up in gadgets like this so that is probably why i had all 3 even though i didn't really ever use 2 of them to justify the costs. However i am on my 4th Xbox and am still happy with it.

never owned a ps3 but I did have an xbox and the wii at one point in time. Sold the wii after it didn't fulfill what I thought it was going to be.

Xbox is the only console I use for games, even if I play just one due to the lack of time.
Ps3 because it's the hell of a good blue ray player.
Wii because I thought that the kids would like it, and they don't so I gave it to a young cousin that didn't have anything to play with and he loves it

i gave my xbox to my roommate a while ago, i have no plans on ever using it again.
ps3 has my favorite games on there, and the best business model (psn+ is awesome)
the wii has the most unique games, xenoblade, sin and punishment 2, DKCR

I sold the Wii, it sucked.
I sold my PS3, because I deployed.
I kept my XBOX360 for Forza.

I own all three.
I had an Xbox and was a big Halo fan and got the 360 shortly after it was released. Halo 3 was a big part of my summers while I was still in school. But I got the RRoD and wasn't in warranty so it just sat on my entertainment center for a few months until I turned it on one day and it was working. A few months later the RRoD returned. I've been trying to just unload it for some cash but haven't had any takers.
Christmas '10 I got a PS3 and have been playing that since.
My brother and I got a Wii for Christmas shortly after it was released and we rarely play it anymore. When he was managing a Blockbuster he would bring home games constantly. Our favorite was to pick up an 18 pack and play Tiger Woods. But now the Wii hasn't been touched in months and I'm going to bring it over to the new place for my girlfriends daughter.

This is almost exactly like me. With my 2 year old I have no time to play. Had all 3 before we had a kid. Xbox died so I got rid of it. Wii didn't get much use and was sold and now PS3 is collecting dust. I'm keeping the PS3 because is the 60GB version and will need it to play DVDs as I don't have any other DVD players.

Figured I'd use them all for the various games that I wanted to play. It hasn't really worked out that way though.
PS3: Turned it on about 10 times in 2 years. Total waste of my money.
Wii: Turn it on for ~1 game per year. Medium waste of money.
360: Turn it on weekly to play games. In no way was a waste of money.
#19
Xbox 360: play it for the exclusives (not sure there are any that matter anymore though), and being able to play Mass Effect all the way through.
PS3: gets regular use as game machine, Blu-Ray player. Etc.
Wii: the exclusive games and party machine.
Honest question: if you own a PS3 and a X360, why do you play games on one versus the other (for games available on both?)

For me the only games I play online are FPS, and for me the PS3 controller just doesn't work as well. I'll play FPS on the PS3, but not online (played Killzone online for a while, stunk at it) campaign only.
So if a game is available on both, and I'm not concerned about the controller, I'll get it on the PS3 just because I need to give it its equal share of the work![]()

It will depend on the game.
If its online multiplayer, I'll usually get it for the 360, just because the online environment is a little more robust there and most of my friends and co-worker game on there as well... The PS3 for some reason has issues (in my house) trying to connect and stay in an online game...
Single player games can go to either one.
For example I picked up Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City for the PS3 because its a visually intense game and the PS3 is in the living room hooked up to the big TV( the PS3 is wireless while until recently the 360 was an original model and wired directly to my router which is in my bedroom...late last year saw the purchase of a newer slim 360 which has built in wireless, so at some point it could migrate to the living room as well)
Mass Effect 3 was purchased for the 360 because I played through the previous 2 games on there.

xbox is my main gaming console
ps3 is my blu ray player/ gt5 machine
Wii is for all the games i played when i was a kid or have fond memories of as i was growing up

I use my Xbox I'd say 95% of the time. Mostly for Froza and NHL. I have a Ps3 for Blu-ray mostly. I don't use it much for gaming. I had a home theater pc I built to watch blu-rays but got tired of waiting for it to load so I sold it for a profit bought a fat ps3 a month and a day before they released the slim for a reduced price. I had a wii used it about 5 times and let it collect dust before selling it to my boss for his kids.

Had all 3.
Sold the 360 because none of its exclusives interest me anymore, and the rest of the console is turning into the Wii. The Wii is a volatile machine... Anytime a first party game(Mario/Metroid/Zelda etc.) comes out it gets abusive amounts of use, but collects tons of dust in between. I kept the PS3 mostly for Blu-Ray use, Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime streaming, as well as the PS1/PS2 backwards compatibility. I play lots of classic playstation games.
Console's are headed in a bad direction IMO. I'm almost exclusively a PC gamer again.

I have all 3... reason being:
Wii - girlfriend owns it, she moved in, now I own it
360 - won it in a contest a year ago that I signed up for
PS3 - I'm a sony man through and through, 99.99% of the time I'm on my PS3

I like my Wii because Nintendo still makes the best platformers, imo. I can't stand metroid games tho, i don't know how the heck you guys can play that mess of 1990's graphics with flat colors and clunky controls.![]()

metroid was clunky? i thought that was the weight of her space suit... i always liked the sense of momentum samus has.

Every time I read these threads, I still can't help but wonder why the Wii was and/or is as popular as it is/was. It seems like the vast majority of people who have them don't use them and that's not just from reading this board either![]()

I got the Wii as a gift when they first came out from a vendor.
We bought the PS3 for the Blu-Ray player.
I just bought a 360 a few months ago. I'm not even sure why really...

Right now my Wii is collecting dust at my dads. The next time I'm there I'm going to pick it up and bring it home for the 8 year old to play.
