It's pretty derivative - hello, there, Ford grille - but I can't say it's too bad. Good Impala/LaCrosse/300C competition, I guess.

The front end looks idiotic, but the rest is ok.

Looks like a pimped out Ford Focus sedan. Meh

Not bad at all, but the front is totally bizarre.

Would have liked it better if it looked more like a sedan than a 4-door hatchback.

Wasn't the design of this car pretty hyped up? I'm underwhelmed.

Looks like the Avalon designers were taking notes from the new Impala designers. I think Chevy did a better job though.

I'm just sort of whelmed. It's there, it's decent looking, it makes a case for itself versus the Camry, old people will buy it.

I much prefer this to the Impala as it's actually somewhat cohesive. to Toyota.

I really like where they were going, but the C-pillar looks overly massive from the rear view--I see now why Jaguar blacked it out to give it less visual mass.

Also, when will Toyota (and Honda, this goes for you, too) properly tire a car? The wheels look small and narrow, especially when you look at it next to the new Impala.

Still, it's the best looking Toyota in ages.

I need to see a direct profile shot. Something looks a little "off" about it. The front is goofy, the rest looks pretty good.

I wish they'd do away with the kink and just line it up with the bottom of the rest of the green house.

The Impala's pretty cohesive. It just has a poor stance, along with the rest of its platform-mates.

Not bad I like the stitched dash design but have to take a closer look. BTW, I see the cruise control stalk but good thing they changed to clock design.

Wasn't this suppose to be better looking than an A6/A7 according to Toyota?

Much like the new Lexus ES, it looks fantastic considering what it is replacing. However, much like the ES, I think the rumors overhyped the design. I find it attractive overall, very much like the front end design language minus the Ford grill, and think the CT-inspired interior pulls off the best combination of modern + luxury I have seen so far. But it's hard to get super excited about the profile of the car - obviously what Toyo wanted people to get inspired abut - considering it's been done in mainstream by the Sonata and Passat CC. But it is good to see that this class has really developed its own identity in the last few years considering how it was an afterthought not too long ago.

i see some sonata hybrid influence.

Wow, very interesting. Definitely the most daring Avalon to date.

I really like the fastback--the entire rear, really.

And it seems that this and the new Impala have been heavily influenced by the Cïtroen C5.

They both have very European greenhouses and detailing.

They also both finally look like they're worth $10K more than their Malibu/Camry sisters.

that front looks like 06' Honda civic and a bit of the 13' Genissis coupe fornicated.

its distinguished but as 4-star arm chair commander, I disapprove.

Looks like the fastback look is in vogue right now. Avalon, Impala, MKZ... same idea slightly different execution.

The front end of Avalon looks like it belongs on a different car though; maybe the Calty guys are predicting what the 2015 Fusion-based Taurus will look like

I like everything about it except the lower front air damn. Makes me think of the Sonata hybrid.

Back is fine and the interior looks great, but dang that front is just a mess.

    Overall, not feeling it.
