It was about two years ago I said to my uncle, "if you ever sell your car, I'm your man." About 6 months ago he ordered his new Tiguan and the waiting began. I sold my imola 20th in late February and yesterday took ownership of a beautiful TR r32. Its a baby with 41k on the clock and runs perfectly (knock on wood). My plans are simple so far, a nice set of coils, badgless grill with sidemarker delete (also to cover up bumper holes from front liscence plate ) and a UM N/A tune. Sorry for the terrible garage pics. Trying not to take it outside in this beautiful Seattle rain Onto the pics...

    The 20th

    And of course, the .:R

And the first thing I did when i got her home...

There are a few out there that somehow survived the clear coat plague.
I know nkgneto ( he's a professional detailer ) gives his car the full treatment.

I'm sure he will chime in soon.

Just don't put tape ANYWHERE on the paint and you're okay.

I love MK4 R32s !! When the R32 came out I was still in college and dreamed someday I could own one. The MK4 R32 is why I bought my Mk6 R. Beautiful car, enjoy it

Proper care, NO DISH SOAP EVER!!!!!, and keeping a good quality sealant/wax should do it.
If it was just plain defective, no help....

Looks in awesome shape, thank your Uncle.

We quit buying Red cars because every one we owned had some cretin run into it...... plus a cop magnet as well.

The 20th was an awesome car as well. I just felt that there was a chance it would break everytime I pushed it hard. It was stage 1+ uni (20psi) and had a full 3inch tbe. This seems like a lot of boost for a ko3, and especially after my first turbo went out, I was scared. It honestly felt a little quicker than the R (more tq and a lot less weight) but the R has effortless power in my opinion. It feels solid, like I could take it to a track and beat the **** out of it for a day and everything would be fine. And around corners theres no comparison. The R hugs the ground and feels 10x better. Overall the R is a great upgrade

This. I bought mine two years ago with one little spot of clear coat peel. By three months ago the whole car was suffering from the issue.

I finally broken down and had to get it painted.

The deal of the century keeps on getting better. My uncle came ove today after clearing out his apartment for a move and he found an original r32 poster from when he got his off the lot. Its numbered out of 5000 like the car. Makes me wonder how many of these are left out there?

For those who are interested the car now has 46k on the clock and runs just the same. Im at about 3000 miles with the um n/a tune and have loved every minute of it. Next purchase will be sway bars (front and rear) and hopefully coils in anticipation of a track day i have scheduled for mid august
