you could but it's not necessary.... what brand tires are you looking for? 215/40/18 and 205/40/18 are fairly common sizes. check Falken 512, Falken 452, Falken 912, Nitto NeoGen, Toyo T1 or Dunlop DZ 101.

guarantee you'll find those sizes made by at least one (but most likely all) of those brands

    That's the thing got a price under 400 for 4 new 215 35 lexani tires , how much of a difference would it be from the 215 40 / 205 40 on the 18x8

www.tyrestretch.com could demonstrate that best. it's not a huge difference, but the proper sized rubber is always nice to have.

    http://esmwheels.com/access/002r-p-167.html

17x8.5, not sure which offset to make it fit? and what else i have to do to make it fit

also im not sure whether to do 8.5 all around or 10 in the back, thinking 10 in the back and 8.5 in the front. so what offset and what do i have to do to fit?

well, I have 225 tires already, but its going to look stupid either way, if I go staggered wheels with 4 225 tires its going to be retarded so im thinking using the 225 for the 9.5 in the back and doing 205? for the 8 in front. not sure how stretch is going to look with only 1.5" lowering though. i gotta think this one over.

doing tire stretch like this, does it change anything as far as performance, durability of the tire, handling, etc?

Im waiting on my 18x8 asa ar1's. They are 18x8 with a 35mm offset. Im looking to run 24" ftg maybe 23.5 if possible. I want the wheels to sit flush, maybe a little poke in the rear if possible. Will i need to roll the fenders? Im most likely going to get the fenders rolled just curious if its a must. What size spacers will i need for flush and what size would I need for some poke? Also was just going to get the recomended tire size which is 225/40 but maybe will get 215/40 if needed.

yes, that's a pretty common stretch size for a 9.5. a 215/40/18 tire isnt necessary unless you either A) have massive amounts of poke or B) just prefer to have that much stretch.

i've run 225/40/18 tires on my 18x9.5's for the last 4-5 years. it'll give you a good amount a stretch to help reduce rubbing if you're low. so in the end, either one will work and you can check out www.tyrestretch.com to see how both would look.

also, i noticed you said you said you have a 1.5" drop? if so, stretch wont be as necessary and you're right it may look a bit weird. however, if you think you ever plan to go lower in the somewhat near future you may as well wrap the wheels in the tires you know you're going to need. for the front, 215/40 would be a decent choice to help go with the stretch in the back.

    here's 1 of mine (225/40/18 falken 512 on 18x9.5):

it looks like the only option for 5x100 is to have 17x8.5 et20 and 17x10 et15. if that's the case, mount them up as is no spacers needed.

for tires, 215/40/18 up front and 225/40/18 in the back would be a solid choice. just be aware that you're going to have some decent poke in the back. front will have a little poke but not bad at all. the wheels are definitely runnable though

definitely roll your fenders. it's like preventative maintenance, something you know you should do... so just do it

as far as spacers go, 10mm up front and 15mm in the back would pretty flush all around. very similar to this car:

    42mm offset (without spacer)
    225.45.17 tire

with 15mm spacers on? i can do 15mm front and 20mm back atm
    Will this be roughly flush?

that's still going to tuck a bit. you could go with a 20mm up front and a 25mm in the back and you'd be sitting similar to the car i posted above on the audi fat 5 wheels

thanks i really appreciate it. but for tires you mean 17 right? cause the wheels are 17 and you put 18 for the wheels, so im kind of confused.

ah, my mistake. you want 45 series then and for 17's not 18's. if you want stretch drop down 1 size from what i originally recommended. so go with 205/45/17 for the front and 215/45/17 for the rear

okay so I think I settled on a set of staggered wheels, 18x8.5/18x10. The tires I have that I'm going to use (just for now, replacing next summer) are Federal's, I think 595 series, 225/40/18. This should work then right?I know it's not going to look ideal until I do the same stretch front and back but I figure I'll atleast use these tires through winter then get some NeoGen's.

hey specs of the wheels are 17x8 et 25 , going to run 205/45's on them but im unsure on what i would need to make it flush up front ? i want to run an 8mm out back or give any suggestions on what you think would be a good setup

no spacer needed up front, just mount them as is and they'll sit fairly flush. the 8mm in the back sounds good

the 10et16 up front will likely rub your coilovers. you could space them out but you will have an unmanageable amount of poke regardless, unless you plan to do some pretty substantial fender work.

find something a bit narrower for the front if you can or be ready for body work

I have some 17x8 BBS RC090s that I want to throw on my VR6. The offset is 20mm. Will this be too much poke with adapters? should I just get it redrilled?

if youre saying the offset is currently 20mm before adapters (meaning they'd be et0 after adapteres), then they could work but you'll poke a pretty decent amount. spacing out somewhat skinnier wheels that far also looks a bit odd from behind.

as compared to this photo, your front would poke 4mm more and your rear would poke 5mm less.

10mm would be very close and since some coilovers differ from others you might clear but i cant say for sure. 12mm or 15mm would be a safer choice

Spacer sizes for my wheels please?
    OZ Ultraleggeras 18x8 et35
I've got 215/35 tires and I'm on air so rubbing is no issue really. I want to get the fronts as flush as possible and the rears flush as well.
Maybe like 1mm poke in the back but I'm not getting much stretch on the tires.
The tires are coming out like 2mm further than the wheel.
Just don't want it to look stupid

    Pics for clicks! Thanks!

you could easily measure this yourself, since you already have the wheels on the car:

take a piece of string with a washer/nut on the end and tape it to the middle of the arch of your fender and let it hang down. then measure from the string to the wheel and that's how big of a spacer to add

but if you're feeling lazy, 10mm up front and 15mm in the back would work well.
