Not a big enough plenum for an N/A VR6.

Plenum volume should be kept between ~40-50% of engine displacement. A plenum that is too small for the motor will starve the engine of air.

Then you will need an even larger plenum, Chief.

You are going to wish you hadnt cut those pinch welds when you back out of the driveway and they split... There is a reason people grind them smooth and build a "false floor" on top of them...

Also... with the bondo... good luck with that... You need tiger hair and metal glaze. I use evercoat products.

    Good luck I guess.

I know what you did. I did it once too. Ended up junking the car because of it.

Just take my word for it and go for a drive before you waste money on paint.

And the runners are WAY too short, unless planning on 14,000 rpm, they aren't equal length to the valve, and he will prob have to relocate the aLt.

Big downgrade from stock for sure.

One rarely realizes how bad the rust is until the car is stripped down. Good job on patching it up.

I'm really worried about those framerail pinchwelds.

    Stupid screenname.

In that case, all the more reason to heed some of these people's warnings.

good luck man. Glad to see you are plugging away but seriously if both johnstamos and 911_fan are advising you to redo the plenum you might want to at least consider what they are say. I have been trolling around vortex and these two like to back up their statements with facts. Not saying they are 100% right all the time or know everything but they have given me a few pointers on my build that have saved me a on of both time and money. Pick their brains if they will let you.
otherwise carry on with build bro.

Yeah but this dude seems really into it. He looks like the "You live and you learn" type of guy. Sometimes correcting your mistakes by trial and error gives one more self satisfaction.

Isn't that why the A/F gauge is there? To let you know that you are running lean. AKA Fix what needs to be fixed and keep it in the green.

That looks stellar for a backyard DIY. Why pay 3500 for a bay when you can do it yourself. It might not be perfect but when done will look better than a stock bay.
