I'm still on my first tank (courtesy of the dealer) and I'm seeing what I consider poor mileage, but you all will confirm that.

Post your mpg, city vs highway (or mix), 2 vs 4 door. And mods (if any).

Once we get a bunch of us I'll come up with averages and histograms for 2 door vs 4 door, or RB vs CW vs UG vs TR if we have a decent sample size.. You know, for science

    I'll start:

    21 mpg average, 25 highway
    2-door CW

    TornadrotGTI's addendum:

So I actually started to plug our rock-hard data into a spreadsheet when I realized I should let the internets do it for me.

    http://freeonlinesurveys.com/s.asp?s...hbgm3rlzw43954

Check it. It's just for us. Don't share it or else the MkV R guys will corrupt it

I didn't find a free service that would cross tab the responses which is the point in my asking you the last couple of questions, so Ill either do that myself or I'll pay the 10 bucks for a month of the premium service.

Either way, fill it out AND FILL IT OUT NOW!

The results will be updated on here prn

I actually have a spreadsheet going...

MPG for my first four tanks:
    27.995
    27.920
    25.402
    26.555

Average cost per mile traveled so far of 14.5 cents (two of those fillups had discounted promotional pricing).
My super leet mods, cosmetic/touch/feel only for negligible Vortex cred: HPA dogbone mount, Dieselgeek short-shifter, aluminum look glovebox handle, R logo seat handle inserts, OEM LED tail lights, smoked side markers, and LED interior lighting.

I am running right around 27mpg. This is from miles drive/fuel in. The display is reading low.

My best was 30.8mpg for mostly highway driving. I am interested to see what a full interstate drive will give me.

I got 9mpg at the track.

Haha this is a judgement-free thread!!

So I definitely screwed up again, I'm the OP (forgot to log off my brother's account again haha).

I was surprised to see my current MPG not go above ~25mpg while cruising at ~65 mph. I think the dealers first tank may have been the cheap 87 octane =\

Will report back after I fill up with 93

Has anyone else been keeping track of this?

If you have a smart phone there's an app called "Gas Cubby" you should check out.

My first two fills were 23.9 and 22.4, both measured off of mileage vs gas in, not the MFI.

I had a recent trip with over 1000 miles round trip. I averaged 27 MPG through that trip...mostly Highway, but plenty of stop and go city traffic which brought it down. Overall, Im pleased with my MPG...

I have not gotten over 24 overall on any fill-up in the first 2600 miles... the worst I had was 17 overall.

I'm measuring by way of milage and gas pumped too. Over time I'm going to start comparing to what the MFI claims and maybe I'll start a thread about it in the future! Looks like that app is iOS only, I'm using an Android phone - but thanks for the suggestion anyway

Normally 17.0 mpg in the city, though lately I've been generally following the instruction of the shift light so it's jumped up to 24mpg city; I don't drive on the highway if I can avoid it.

    The beltway makes me nervous.

Ugh...I wish I had some verifyable source so that I could build a case on why I need to buy some upgrades....aka...get my wife to be on board with me spending more cash...

If I truly could get 3-5 more MPG while driving on the highway (since I drive a lot for work and get paid mileage) then that's more money I make thus the upgrades pay for themselves.

I drive from Muscatine, IA to Middletown, IA every day. Fuel economy is somewhat important. 112 Miles round trip every day. Do you want a screen shot of my MFD?

My 37.2 mpg is on a high way/side roads last year going to SOWO. I have been stage 3 for over 2 years now and i still get over 300 miles to the tank. I would get more but i tend to speed up very fast.
I have seen up to 40mpg when i was heading back from berlin german to the village i lived in. Autobahn cruzing was always great on gas mileage.

No one is suggesting they got the car for the gas mileage. We all know our MPG goes down accordingly with our right foot.

Getting good MPG while cruising on the highway is bonus.

This kind of nonsense is akin to asking, "what do you pay for insurance." There is no meaningful information contained therein. If i see stupid threads i will say, "hey, this is a stupid thread." You seem to think there is "information" contained in these threads. I hate to tell you this, but there is not. You can not infer anything about you and your driving from some guy on the 'tex. My foot is always in the floor, so i get 1 MPG. Does that help you at all?

    Nope, because it was nonsense.

The thread can effectively show people what MPG they are capable of getting if they tried hard enough. It can help a person who is already driving pretty conservatively (in their mind) figure out that they can do better if they want to, or help someone figure out that an issue exists that is sapping their fuel economy. I'm personally hoping to figure out (or see if someone else already has) how far off my MFD is from reality.

I come from forums with much more stringent topic moderation than here, and I'm just as annoyed by posts with lack of content as you seem to be. I try to ignore them. You, however, have a sharp tongue and a good dose of arrogance.

first five tanks were 17.1, 18.1, 17.4, 18.5, 17.8 from mostly very short highway trips. Anyone else notice the MFI reads .4 to .7 mpg high?
