The Calipers use a M10 x 1.0 Banjo Fitting.
So you'll need new fronts, but you would want to keep upgraded rears if you have them.
I'd imagine if you're upgrading, you could sell your front brakes with those fresh lines included.

Received more info today...
Pad Update:
below is the pad that will be used with the RacingBrake caliper.
SPECS:
FMSI (Friction Materials Standards Institute) Pad D#1149
R32 FMSI #8519 = 63.8x19.3x116 (Width/Thickness/Length)
RB460 FMSI #8259 (actual pad) = 60x16.5x139
This pad is also used by Jeep and most any brake manufacture will have any compound you need (street/track).
These pads will have a little more friction area compared to OEM.

looking good, i wonder if i should stop monkeying around with little brake upgrades and just swap out the calipers when these bad boys hit.
i know i have asked this before, but will there be rear caliper replacements also? maybe a two piston rear to go with the 4 piston front? boy that could be sick.
EDIT: i just remembered the reason why RB won't do this is to not interfere with the handbrake system. my bad.
#40
Have your tried the stock brake setup with upgraded everything yet?
I never understood why aftermarket brake companies can't make rear calipers that work with OEM handbrakes when they actually already do make them...(ex. 4 piston OEM Brembos on the rear of the Toaureg)![]()
If your gas cap light comes on even if you think you tightened the cap, try pulling on the cap as you tighten it. Worked for me.

This is just me trying to wrap my head around FMSI numbers
and how we might source pads (I don't want to be forced to always go back to RB for them).
Found this page:
http://www.brakepadscn.com/7-2-12-jeep-brake-pads.html
S/N FMSI D Number FMSI Friction Number Make Model Location Year
1552 D1149 8259 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FRONT 2006-2007
Even given the vehicle model info above, it's still challenging for me to find a selection of pads that I can tell for sure will fit.
#49
I'll take all the hard work out of the process and find the exact pads needed from all the major manufactures (EBC, Mintex, Carbotech, and Hawk) when we start testing. If there are any other manufactures you might be interested in, let me know and I'll do the leg work...

Thanks, Ryan!
I don't really have strong opinions on brake pads, I'm still a high-performance brake newbie. My criteria:
- I'd like a DD/track do-it-all pad. Changing pads for track days seems like a ton of work.
- I'd prefer not to be beholden to a single source. The rotors are already SS, and I've got an eye on consumables $
I really don't give a damn about brake dust, and I haven't yet run across a brake setup that was so noisy I'd DQ it (but my experience level is low).
Do you know if they're working on a rear caliper as well?
#52
Good points..I always try to bring up replacement parts regarding things like this and why it makes sense to go with something that has parts that are easily sourced from many different places.
As for your desire for a multi-use pad..it's kinda like tires, you will be giving something up but it depends on a lot of factors...especially how you drive. I'd say to go with something like Hawk HP Plus or Ferodo 2500 as both are designed for very light track use and still have great initial stopping characteristics you need for the street.

No plans for the rear, you would lose the e-brake and would have to add and e-brake fitting from a Jag or Viper.

I think they haven't mentioned pricing since the product hasn't been tested, I'm sure they'll have an intro price for people that might be on the fence...

Since it looks like testing is underway. Any idea yet if the calipers will clear stock Golf R wheels?
fingers crossed...
#67
#68
RB is known for OEM fitment so there should be no issues of he calipers not clearing the OEM wheels.
