http://www.dailylocal.com/article/20...dead-at-age-88Jim Herr, the man who gained worldwide recognition for his business acumen and persistent desire to create better snack food, died on Thursday night at 88 years old in his home in West Nottingham.
Herr launched his career in 1946, starting a potato chip company with sales averaging about $30 a week. Through the years, the sales volume has grown to more than $100 million per year with more than 1,000 employees.
He was a good man and really did a lot for the southern Chester county area.
I wrestled with one of his grandsons and am friends with his other grandson so I just wanted to throw up a quick tribute.

In lieu, post up your favorite Herr's product.

think they only get as far south as Nova and maybe as far North as Central Jerz, could be wrong though

I know we had them in NOVA because that's where i grew up, but i don't remember seeing them in NC or SC. I have a hankering for some ketchup chips right now!![]()

We get them in Michigan now... which is good because I used to have to bring multiple bags of the Old Bay ones back with me every time I went out east.

Nothing beats the fresh out on tour regular chips that are still hot. I'll use my Chipper mug tomorrow morning for Mr. Herr.

I'm at ground zero for Frito-Lay products, my d.ad has worked there for 33 years, I worked there for 7. I like the boldness of the smaller brands....and somewhat different variety

X infinity. I try to stock up whenever I find them. Oddly enough the last time I saw them was when I moved to Jersey almost 2 years ago.
My dad actually still has an unopened bag of these floating around somewhere.

I can't believe no one has said it yet:
Make Herr's Yours.
RIP Jim. Do they still have billboards with his picture on it by the stadiums on I95?
Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. A normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow.

Just saw this...
This man was a great person and up until his passing has signed all of my paychecks.
Been with the company as a Route Sales guy for almost two years and the entire family makes sure their employees are taken care of. I spoke with Ed Herr and the other brother, J.M Herr at our Christmas parties and they're all great people. He and his wife also walked the parking lot at the plant/Visitor Center and picked up any debris, or trash.
We are in 33 states and 88 Countries.
You can find some of the stuff we sell nationwide in Walmarts and KMarts.
