Rules look good-- best to keep them simple when trying to get a small, diverse group of cars together. I hope you have a good turnout.
Since there are not many opportunities for VW specific races here in the midwest, it looks like we're going to have a class at the local IFO event in September at Gateway in St.Louis. The organizer told me to put together some rules for my "class" and he'll include them on the website for that event.
Here's what I'm thinking: VW heads-up
- any VW/Audi chassis
- any VW/Audi engine
- any arrangement - allmotor, turbo, NOS, supercharger or any combination thereof
- any VW/Audi transmission
- any tire
- no weight restriction
- no altereds, rails, buggies or trikes
- must meet all safety requirements for MPH/ET for your car per NHRA rules
Still working on payout but it won't be big. I'll have something for the fastest all-motor cars and something for the mid-pack guys as well.
There are other classes at this event that just about any car can fit in. I'm acually going to enter one of the FWD classes as well as the VW class. There are Bracket classes as well.
I'm going to have a show-and-shine, cruise or BBQ one Saturday before the race.
Got any input? I'm open to your opinion.
