wrong.......gli suspension can be used on a gti and the other way around, but make sure you use suspension from a vehicle with the same engine ie vr6 to vr6.

Yeah, and that's not even close to what the original poster said...........

He says can I take the "coilovers" off my friends gli and put them on my gti........

Read before you post something that doesnt even relate or make sense. And how isn't the mk4 jetta and mk4 golf platform the same???

To OP you are able to take your friends coilovers off his car and mount them right up onto your car.

the mk4 golf and jetta are based of the same chassis. So yes the coilovers and even the rest of the suspension parts are swap-able.

Yup, sure can. I just did it to my car this week...took coils from a gli and put them on my gti. Absolutely no differences.

Funny, I always thought it was ridiculous to go so low that you had to cut the sway bar...so what was the first thing I did? Spun the coils down just enough that I could still turn the wheels and cut the sway bar hahaha!

doesn't make your car lower, it allows you to set your ride height lower without rubbing the axle
