The autos were a problem on the V6 Honda's, but not so much on the 4 cylinders.

I believe the 2G 3.2TL HID reflectors can be dropped into the 2003-2007 Accord directly.

I know honda slush boxes don't have the best rep. Considering one of these are a daily and may consider auto but if it is a grenade I would go 6 speed. Thanks for your input.
I've heard the autos are decently reliable on the TSX, but the issue is more with the powerband, the K24 needs to be revved, and auto transmissions don't like to rev, so the car feels wayy slow with an auto. The good news is that the manual is a great transmission.

I was looking into a TSX in 2009, right when the new ones came out, comparing the two. I thought it was a good, solid car, but not really super quick, a super good handler, or super fuel efficient. It seemed like a good compromise, but a tad boring. The first gen is a little more noisy inside than the second. Both generations have cheap-feeling leather, too, if you're a dashstroker.

This, and by 2005/6 the problems were ironed out. My Accord V6 5AT has just rolled over 100k and no issues with the trans at all.

I like the TSX, but the V6 Accord is definitely worth a look. It's a pretty quick car even with the auto.

    .
the issue isnt that the auto doesnt like to rev. The issue with the auto is the gearing, the car falls out of vtec on upshifts. a hondata reflash with a lower vtec switchover is the fix for that issue....and also gives you a lot more power to boot.

I really think an enthusiast should target the 6MT. It's such a nice gearbox that passing up on it would be a real shame.

Have had '06 with automatic TSX since new (135,000 mi.) averages 30 mpg if I cool it . I get rear-ended about once a year during suburban commuting, 45 mi a day ,but have never needed anything other than routine maintenance--bulletproof-see Consumer Reports . Handling ,ride ,engine sound , curb-appeal is all first rate . I wish I had gotten 6 speed ,am noticing some minor noise up front and looser handling recently, perhaps CV needs attention. Great vintage.
