I have a 2002 beetle' but out of nowhere started to act, first time i run into some like this, car turns but cuts of immediately, like a power loss but, but there is power sounds normal but cant stay on, no codes at all, now my buddy has the same car, he lost the key and had it re made at the dealer, but when he tried starting his car same thing happened, he had to take it to the dealer to have the key reprogramed, my question is can my problem be the same as my key is boken?

If it was the key, you would have the immobilizer light lit up on the dash flashing after cranking the car before turning the key off. That's why your friends car had to be reprogrammed. New keys aren't adapted when you get them

mine had the same problem on my 2004 R32..
i was pissed, my main key battery died so i got my other control key, fired it up and turned on fine and shut off immediately. got the other spare key and did the same thing. so just changed batteries on main control. I've been want g to take my other 2 spare keys to get reprogramed but I have a feeling its going to be expensive. how much did it cost you if you don't mind me asking?

It can be done with Vag, but you need to have the SKC code.

This used to be something you could get from the dealer, but they no longer use them when VW introduced Gecko as their programming system..

There are a few tools you can use to read the SKC code from the car for mk4 based chassis...

PM me if you would like info.
