Seems high, Ron. Golfs/Jettas are running 88 ft/lbs and my '12 Audi (which shares a chassis with the Beetle) is 90 ft/lbs.

Manual says 103 ft/lbs but one of the salesmen at my dealership said there was a directive
stating that information in the manual concerning the torque setting wasn't correct. No
specifics and something about having the service dep't supplying the correct information.
Don't know if all VW models are involved or just one or some. Has anyone heard anything
about this?

I've always been taught 90ftlbs since my first car(1973 baja bug) to the other 4 beetles I have owned... Did the same on my Audi a4

There should be a correction sent to all owners who have this in the manual.
Went to the service dep't and they have nothing other than Wheel Bolt Tightening
Specs at 140 Nm = 103 ft/lbs of torque for the Beetle. However, the Service Action
Bulletin I was apprised of (#06A2) actually concerns the Passat but perhaps one on
the Beetle is to follow? Tire rack shows similar Audi cars getting 89 ft/lbs..
