Just an idea I was thinking about. Was just seeing if anyone has done it or has any opinions on it?

    Any feedback would be great!

It's been done (and written up) several times. It's a lot of work; you have to replace more parts and do more wiring than you'd think. For example, most model years will need a new ECU, and the crankshaft is different on engines intended for a manual transmission. Unless you're a reasonable facsimile of an expert mechanic, it's probably easier to get a different Passat.

Yeah forsure I hear ya, I was doing some reading on it. I would just get a manual. But the amount of money i've put into repair and maintenance, would then be pointless.

Was just something I was thinking about. I couldnt find a write up on a b5. would be a fun project though!

In the meantime, my next mod will be a turbo back exhaust and apr stage 2 or would it be ok to go high flow cat>apr stage 2>save a little, then get the turbo back exhaust

Poke around over at PassatWorld. I'm sure I've seen at least one write-up over there.
