Might aswell get a thread up for my mk1.

I bought it from a German couple a few miles down the road from my place.

They brought to Ireland with them years ago, I'm not sure exactly when but I hope to get some more history for it.

Its a bog standard 1600 Gti with Koni dampers.

Heres some crap pics from when I picked it up.

Picked up a few bits of missing trim from VW Classic Parts.

Needed a new fuel cap so got a new Hella cap.

Spare RS047 I got from ebay.de, bit tatty but it will be rebuilt with the others in time.

Thanks man, hope to paint it and build up the wheels once I have it running right with the ABF fitted.

Here the engine, needs a good clean but just want to have it mapped and reliable first.

Heres some pics of the manifold and system, its made by Powersprint, all stainless and 60mm bore all the way through, available as a single box system aswell.

I took a **** load of pics because they might come in handy for people thinking about buying a Powersprint, I couldn't find many photos of Powersprint mk1 exhausts when I was looking.

Its quality stuff, they also supply parts for building custom exhaust sytems and mounts.

    Manifold.

I'm using a Zeitronix ZT-2 Lambda controller with lcd display along with a DTA E48 ecu.

Sytec adjustable FPR, I'm probably going to strip this and powdercoat it black, the red is awful, not the look I'm going for at all.

Epytec G60 brake mounts, I have fitted these along with Zimmerman crossdrilled discs and Pagid pads.

The calipers run too close to the nuts on the inside of the RS's so I'm on the lookout for a Scirocco 16v setup.

Cheers, its gonna be different thats for sure, although I have to say its great fun to drive as it is, never fails to put a smile on my face!

Heres the itb's when I got them and the DTA ecu, got them all secondhand for handy money, hope it all works now!

Radinox stainless dishes and stainless bolts for the RS's.

I have the option of going 8's all round or 8's on the front and 8.5 inch rears, not sure what to do yet any advice greatly appreciated!

Edit: love your two cars btw, seen them on here and on other forums!

Some pics of my old mk2 that I previously had the ABF fitted to on standard management.

Have a Kent cam pulley fitted aswell to aid tuning in the future.

Thanks Nick, I bought direct from Powersprint, they were great to deal with!

Would the shipping really be that bad from Germany?

I don't think the shipping would cheap for me.

Check out VW Classic parts, they are making some parts again!

From what I can make out Powersprint is the Motorsport end of Supersprint, the receipt I got with system and manifold had Powersprint/Supersprint printed at the top.

The manifold is better than the Supersprint imho, the outlet is wider

Sorry, I'm going to hold onto the distributor!

The raintray is €15 from VW Classic Parts http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/Golf-Ca...rabweis-1.html

Picked up rear stub axles, bearings and rear brake setup from a Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.8t this morning, bye bye ****ty taper roller bearings!

Nearly there with the wiring, just waiting on some fuel lines and fittings and hopefully it will start.

Picked up a new fuel rail from Jenvey with an-6 connections to go with the braided fuel lines I've ordered, I'm replacing all of the hard lines from the tank to the bay with braided stainless steel lines.

Got some backpay from work and splashed out on a set of KW V3's, they won't be fitted until the car is painted though.

    More pics soon.

I'm in Ireland right now for work, any chance this car is going to make it to the show in Limerick at the end of the month? I haven't seen any mk1's since I've got here and I'm hoping to see some good cars at that show.

Hi, sorry I won't make the Limerick show I'm afraid but theres a group of lads on Vagdrivers.net organising a mk1 meet there http://vagdrivers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=81189

How long are you in Ireland for, there is a big vage.ie show in August in Cork.

Heres the Ibiza Cupra rear stub axle/brake setup I picked up a few weeks ago, no more taper roller bearings

    Factory-recon mk2 16v calipers and Scirocco 16v carriers.

Think I have a pas rack sorted too!
