Hazy paint

I just noticed this on our SRX in the garage lighting. Hazy finish on the fender. Can't see it under other lighting, just the flourescent. Threw some Zymol on it and it didn't help. Suggestions?

Is there a possibility that

1) That fender was a repaint?

2) Has the car ever been washed with a brush?

3) Has a scratch been buffed out of that area?

4) is it just over the wheel opeing lip? Sort of looks like someone used a compound there by hand and never polished it out.

We just picked up the vehicle ( clean 1 owner carfax with the exact options we wanted, low miles). Its possible the fender was repaired previously, the orange peel varies slightly from ofher panels. Not concerned about that just trying to figure out a way to bring the shine back....its predominantly above the fender lip and upper left part of panel.

You might have to polish it out .. do you have a buffer etc?

No, i dont have a buffer. What would i need to get?

It might be a little pricy to buy gust to try to correct that. Look up a quality detailer in your area and have them look at it .. if possible he can ploish it out in about 5 min .. if the hazing us under the clear then its there for good.

When you do ask the detailer if he actually polishes it out or uses a glaze with a lot of fillers.

I swung by a body shop by my work and they polished it out for $23 I was happy, looks 100% better. Thanks for the tips

I don't know where you live, but body shops are the very places you want to avoid. $23?????

Wash the car a couple of times and check the paint in direct sunlight. Tell us where you live and You will receive suggestions for quality detail work.

BUT, if you are happy, that is all that matters
