Hey everyone! I just recently bought a Jetta 2.5 SE (Wednesday to be exact). I'm very excited to start doing some modifications to my new car! Now, on with my intro.

A little about myself: I'm 15 years old, this is my first car and I live in the Northwest Arkansas area (if anyone wants to start a Jetta scene around this area).

Friday, I purchased a set of brand new ST coilovers to put on my car. They should arrive mid week this week, and Saturday I will be going to Fort Smith to get them installed. Yesterday (Saturday), I removed my front VW emblem from my grille and taped around my rear emblem and painted them both matte black. Today, I spent about an hour and a half taping around the "Jetta" badge and "2.5 SE" badge and also painted them today. Everything turned out very nice! Pictures of my progress will be posted below! I hope to meet a lot of people, and hope we can start a Jetta MK6 scene here in the Northwest Arkansas region!

    Friday, April 6th
    Purchased ST Coilovers

    Saturday, April 7th
Painted front and rear VW emblems matte black

    Sunday, April 8th
Painted "Jetta" and "2.5 SE" logos on rear of the car

    Thursday, April 19
Got my ST Coilovers installed at Ozark Imports
Pictures on page 2; post #57

More progress to be done soon!

Wow, painting them on the car is kinda ballsy.

My advice would be to go ahead and remove the badges, and get a stock VW badge again. I'm not the biggest fan of $5 mods..it looks tacky on a brand new and otherwise simple/classy car.

I'd rather do mods to my car myself rather than buy mods that I could just as easily paint. They turned out really nice; very smoothe, no rough spots, etc.

Awesome man, make sure they are reminded to keep bump stops and helper springs in. sure you can go lower without them but they keep you safe when you bottom out

Simply telling them to put them all the way down might not provide even height. The car weighs more on one side than the other, especially with you in it, so driver side may need to be raised up slightly to even the gap. Or vice versa. You can fine tune it later I suppose. Hope it comes out great

Thanks! A lot of people have their opinions about the emblems (my girlfriend hates them). Glad you think they look alright! I was actually planning on getting black enkei raijin wheels. I thought they would look pretty cool. I just don't think any more silver/gunmetal would look good on my car.

    issues with black wheels include:

    1. always look dirty
    2. look like steelies from a far
    3. must be slammed to pull them off imo
    or...
    4. must be bbs's ccws schmidts etc

Hmmm, I understand what you're getting at. I had cris photoshop them onto a silver jetta, and they looked pretty nice. Id keep them clean; I've washed my car like 5 times since I got it 2 weeks ago haha. I don't know of these wheels would look like steelies from far away. They have too many spokes to look like steelies.

Haha, true, but I don't want my car to look like complete ***t. Any wheel suggestions? Let's stay in or around $1,500.

go with a good set of cast rotiforms. haven't seen to many sets on mkvis and coming from the mkiv scene its kinda weird. or fifteen52. both great companies for a first set of wheels under $1500

another route would be klutchrepublik, but they only have one set that would fit our cars. still look good though. and yes please do not get black wheels unless they are 3 piece with polished lips/barrels and black centers, but that will def be at least double what you want to spend.

Silver or gunmetal? I'm leaning more towards gunmetal since its not just a plain silver. It's more of a silver-blue'ish.

Raijin's don't look like blqs. They actually look like Miros. I haven't quite decided on a wheel yet, but the Raijin's are what I'm aiming at right now.

Haha, I like Enkei's style of wheels. Plus I don't hardly see anyone with Enkei's around here, so I think it'd be nice to see a change Not too expensive for a set of 4 either. $170 a piece for the EKM3's.
