Brought my car in to the mechanics shop today to get my wheels and tires installed, finally! I really like the look of the silver wheels on my silver car. It looks pretty classy. The only problem is that I rub in the front, so more than likely, I'm going to raise the front up to be even with the rear instead of taking the rest of my rear perches out. I shot a few pictures after giving my car a wash with my iPhone, but this weekend my brother and I are gonna do another shoot. Heres a few pictures of new wheels on the car.

Thanks I think I'm going to buy some VW center caps and replace the miro ones with the VW ones. Will it look good?

I wanted to do steel ones and put a custom design on it, but I figured it would get pretty pricey for laser work.

Noooo I'm keeping my black badge I like it! I have a question though (more like your opinions). Should I take the rest of the rear perch out and camber both the front and back wheels? I need to do something about the rubbing in the front. Im literally about 5mm from the fender and ever little bump I hit I rub. Or I could not camber any wheels at all and raiser the front of the car up to even it out with the rear. Which of those 2 options should I do?

Smaller tires. We don't have adjustable camber in the rear so you would have to shim it. For the front you would need camber plates. Or just find a way to roll the fronts and you will be fine

Haha that's weird, because my left rear wheel is cambered. When I got my coils installed, they aligned my car but the left rear wheel wouldn't align, so they said I need to get my wheels on and then they'll align or camber my rear wheels. And I'm not gonna pay another $700 for new smaller tires lol.

Mine like that also. It's how our suspension is. Only way to get real camber out of it would be with shims

Oh ok, I gotcha. I decided I'm going to raise the front up to be level with the rear later after school. Don't want to go through getting camber and stuff until I get bags (won't be for a while).

Is it rubbing the fender or the fender screw? Cause you can just do the fender screw mod an that doesn't require rolling your fenders

Thanks man. Do you think I'll still rub? My index finger can't fit in between the top of the screw and my tire.

I did the screw mod, and it works great. Added enough room so that I haven't heard one rub all night while driving around Fayetteville. I want to remove the rest of my rear perch, but im afraid ill rub in the back.

Only one way to find out.

If it rubs just toss the perch back in

Your rears might get lower then your fronts after doing so fyi

Isn't it supposed to be leveled out? If my rear is lower than the front then I probably won't take out the rest of the perch

Just try it. if they are lower, double check the fonts are at their max, compare the look before and after. If it sucks, throw the perch back in. lol. I am always looking for an excuse to jack with my car haha

glad the fender screw mod worked. removing your perches should make it level with the front i dont think just removing those would drop it enough to make it lower then the front

Mine did, I initially had my fender at 12.75 inches from mid wheel and rears were 13. After removing perches the rears dropped to 12.2

Spun the fronts all the way down and they became even but rubbed on turns. So I put perches back on in rear and raised the front back up to 12.75

I did the fender screw mod too, didn't help at max low on turns.

Sorry i haven't done any updates recently. I'm not really sure what I want to do next. My birthday is in 7 days, so does anyone know of anything I could get for my car? Nothing too expensive since my car was basically an early birthday present. My friend asked me if I wanted to go to Japan for my birthday, so I'll be headed to Japan with him near the beginning of July. These next few paychecks will be going towards stuff in Japan, not towards my car Any ideas on a Yakima roof rack? My brother has one and wants to sell it to me, but im not sure if it will look good.

So today, I officially turned 16. I didn't ask for anything from my parents, so they gave me $300 cash to buy stuff for my car or for my trip to Japan. I'll probably spend the $300 on my car, as I have a $400 paycheck coming right before my trip to Japan. What are a few things I should get?

I'll probably spend it in japan. Theres not really anything else i want for my car right now, and i don't want to spend it on random things for my car. So yeah, it'll be going towards stuff in Japan. And yeah, Fayetteville has some crazy roads in some places if thats what you're talking about, haha. Fayetteville, Arkansas, right? Not Fayetteville, North Carolina.

situational awareness should show you that i'm located 2.5 hours from your location.

and yeah, the five years was implying alcohol on dickson.

and i assure you that you'll regret not having the extra $300 as soon as you're in japan.
