Disregarding tire size? Tire size determines the lowest offset, as well as how much you're lowered, wheel width, suspension stiffness, fat chicks....
Go out and use a tape measure or do a search on similar setups. There are multiple examples of MKVs with 8.5" wide wheels.
Personally, I feel that a 8.5" wheel with a 225 wide tire and about a +40-45 offset is just about perfect. But that's just my preference![]()

Right now i have 19x8.5 +33 on 215 35 and rear fender... tires rubbing and hitting my wheels
i guess might just have to raise up my car then....

What the FTG in the rear. I have a 9 et43 in the rear and have no rubbing issues, even with people in the back seats

Measure the fender to ground height if you are rubbing you are at under 23" or around there. My FTG is at about 23 1/4". That quarter is a huge difference when it comes to rubbing tires

Oh measure from the center of the fender down its more accurate

Thats weird. Our wheels are almost identical in the rear and I have a 215/40 with no rubbing issues

One thing you should be aware of is that if you change the offset either through wheels
or spacers it will change steering geometry and could affect your steering feel, tracking etc.

Its the bolt in the picture I posted in the previous post. The one in the background you just loosen it and and push the arm out, then tighten again
